It wasn't just sales staff though, but also mechanics and spare parts people etc. The new bike assemblers at the beginning of the year were laid off when the down turn was on. The shops did not predict or expect the upturn in the new and used market that has occurred since April.

Understood Cruz, but my point is that a $111m company should have deep enough pockets to be able to consider the impact on their lowly employees without needing to sack them at the first sign of trouble.

For the company to then crow about record profits - achieved through a mix of sacking everyone but a skeleton staff, claiming government assistance to pay employees once the good times arrive, and having the sheer good luck to have a massive market turnaround with no input from themselves, and then effectively gloat/brag about extraordinary profits as if it happened due to their good management, is too much for me to stomach.

Having said all of the above, I do note that this is an article from the Australian, and having said that, it is exactly the sort of spin that the Murdoch gutter press loves to put in all of their reporting.

I was filling up in Parkes today and this fella came and asked about my Versys. Said he's just picked up a brand new KLR for just over 8 grand.

If you don't want a high strung supermodel there might still be deals out there.

I see theres a nice Super Enduro up for sale in Queensland, 50,000 odd kms but mainly road use (apparently) with stock and safari tank, panniers and bags, a fair few extras. $16,900 i think was the last price I saw the other day.
Thats about the going market price for the last 5 years, as rare as they come up.
Everyone (who doesnt know) ia saying its an overinflated corona price. Uh huh.

    Probably.
All the price madness seems to be on enduro bikes and MX bikes..... probably driven the 18-30 age group who've accessed their super to buy toys.
I'm sure when it was first listed the price was about $1500 higher. Maybe given the ks its a touch high still? There's none on bikesales currently, hes just got to be patient.
