It's going to be interesting to see what happens to all the 'stuff' that people have been buying over the last two years. Is there really a home for all those - push bikes / motorbikes / campers / caravans / etc etc - which wasn't there before?

I wonder if there is more to it than a simple chip shortage, are people (like me) hanging off on their new vehicle purchase because they don't want to get on a 9 month waiting list. Is news like this meant to drive declining new vehicle sales.

I notice that some of the big touring bikes have actually dropped their prices for current models, makes sense, why buy a touring bike when you can't tour.

I was going to sell one of my bikes and changed my mind. A few days later I checked to make sure my advert on Bikesales was down.
Hardly any bikes like mine there online compared to 2 weeks earlier and with no new ones due in dealers until May (Italian Ducati)

Did you put it back on for sale?

Good way to get your money back for the next bike.

I don't really understand this. :scratch

Tesla, who have more frickin' chips in their cars than any other manufacturer, are going great guns. Not only are they manufacturing and selling more vehicles, they have dropped prices 3 times in the past 12 months and are available for immediate delivery. A new model 3 is around 15% cheaper today than it was in September last year, but interestingly just about every used Tesla model 3 on Carsales is priced higher than a new one.

    I reckon it's a car website conspiracy! :lol3

The more Motorcycle and Tyre reviews that I look at on YouTube, the more that YouTube tries to recommend bouncing boobs and short skirts.

It will improve if you take off your tin foil hat.

I've been looking at Bikesales for ages and lately the number of KTM500's and DR650's is significantly down from the past. They are selling now albeit at high prices. The one standout thing is that 2nd hand road bike sales are near dead. I have been looking for a good road/smooth dirt road bike for 2 up use like a 1200GS/Vstrom 1000 and even a big KTM V Twin and an 890. In the last few months hardly a single 890 has sold, every week I was getting at least 2 notifications of yet another 1200GS for sale and Vstroms are not moving.

Ended up buying an excellent 2018 Vstrom with reworked suspension, pipe, crash bars, heated grips for about 1/3rd the price of a good 2nd hand GS. About the only un-obtainable bike is the Yamaha T7. I had to put a deposit on one as they are apparently on the seas but they really can't say when they will be here, maybe sometime in November

No worries about chip shortages for the DR650, the only chips anywhere near that bike will be the fried chips from the local takeaway in the guts of the fat over fifties riders...:imaposer

Nah, the tin foil hat stopped that, but didn’t work for the phone as it still tries to alert me then talk to me!
