or, since this is a Ural thread, instead of carrying 2 small fuel containers you could man up and carry enough to get you anywhere!

And if they are so tough (your words) why aren't they attached to a Ural?

Are those 2-gal Rotopax's? That's 50 lbs of extra weight being carried all the way forward? Yikes! Hopefully the trailer and the stuff in your trunk keeps everything flat on the ground.

It doesn't actually move that much weight. The photo is staged, like the cover pic on a TV dinner.

The point of my post was to alert any noob looking at that pic and thinking "brilliant!" Not brilliant.

The additional 10 gallon Rotopax on the front (5 gallons each side) do not, for me, affect the riding of the bike. With or without the trailer the bike still handles the same.
The only difference is in braking, obviously because of the extra weight, but so is every other bike be it 1 or 2 on the bike with or without camping gear etc.

Physics would dispute one of your points, vigorously.

I still contend that the outfit doesn't move, so handling will remain unaffected.

And FR700 is out because yes.
    Why?
    Lame answer
No examples of proof of physics displayed or explained.

Let's refresh your memory, shall we? Let's shall.

    See Exhibit A below.

According to you this is a ural thread, not one where I point out the very basics of physics. By the way, that was a really pleasant welcome you gave our friend from Mexico, not.

By the title of the thread "Why you should NOT buy a Ural motorcycle" would make this a Ural thread.

Here is the thing, if you make a statement based on your assumption about your understanding of physics and someone asks you to explain that assumption, the answer 'yes' and 'See Exhibit A below' is not an answer.
That is you just trying to blow it off like you know without out explaining it.
So again you still have not explained or displayed your physics points.

Our friends from Mexico are fine to show off their wares in the Vendors forum under Gear.
As far as welcomes go well look at the last few post between you and your mates.

Along with physics would it be reasonable to conclude that you lack an understanding of nuance?

What is it that you're trying to convey?

If you're going to be pedantic, don't you feel it would make more sense to post in Hack Vendors ?

Here, let me help you with that seeing as you appear to be unable to lift your head to see all the way to the top of the screen where that sub-forum is located.

    https://advrider.com/f/forums/hack-vendors.82/

In fact, our friend from Mexico has done just that. As proof, let me present Exhibit B. https://advrider.com/f/threads/sidecars-made-in-mexico.1348311/

Let's talk abt what is the best oil and filter to use in a Ural.

I'm sure we will empirical evidence presented that will answer this question once and for all. :hmmmmm

The empirical evidence is You don't own a Ural so don't worry about it

A few years back I was at a sidecar rally up in BC, Canada and was following Tara (who knew how to drive a rig, and was experienced) from DMC on a two lane down hill when she applied a bit to much brake and the Chair frame tilted forward enough to hit the pavement which sent the rig thumbing ass over end and off the road. She was pretty beat up and hospitalized and her son was thrown from the chair and broke his arm, I think. The unit was a GS and it was one of DMCs builds and was put together right. I think the members here are just trying to point out that physics has a lot to do with how rigs handle and too much weight forward out of the ideal triangle of the wheels can really cause trouble. And if your going to argue with FR700, Justkip or DRONE, you should leave your attitude at the curb. These guys maybe funnin with you in their responses but they freely give out ALOT of very good advice,
