Ok. The lady at the grocery store deli claims there is no Lorraine cheese because the Wisconsin factory burned. I googled it, and no hits. Anybody know of this? Not that I don't believe her. :D
My favorite cheese. Even smells like cheese and has a taste. Unlike those swiss cheeses that taste like paper.

Not so good eh? Or is it just the type Lorraine? I'm kind of a mild taste guy, but do like some taste.
What about the Kugel Cheese Mart in Lena, WI? Maybe I'll try some Lorraine from there.

We pulled into an Applebee's for dinner while traveling. Racerwife ordered a glass of red wine with dinner. They brought white wine. When we inquired about the mistake, the manager said the distributor was out of red wine and none was available in the area, not even at Walmart. The next morning, we went to Walmart for some other things, and I checked the shelves for red wine. There was plenty there.

    People lie.

The process for making Lorraine is literally short-cutting the (real) swiss cheese process. If you're paying more for Lorraine than for the Swiss cheese under the counter you're getting ripped off. Suckers. :lol3

Give me Swiss or give me Muenster.

How is Kugel's holding up since they ran the highway around Lena? I try to swing in there each time on the way up to the cabin. Have to get my smoked string cheese fix.

Funny you should ask, this just in from my bud the son, so there ya have it!

You can tell the ADV Riders that Dad appreciates each and every customer that makes their way from the highway now that it is a special trip.

He is doing OK even though the business has been greatly curtailed.

As for the Lorraine, it is a brand name for a processed Swiss flavored cheese. People like this stuff because it is not quite as strong as real Swiss cheese and it melts like butter. The factory did indeed burn down. When it was rebuilt, they retooled to focus on other more profitable products.

I suggest they make a call to 920-829-5537 talk to my Dad, Jim, or my Brother, JJ. They will be able to suggest a suitable replacement.
