    Yes, great camping accomodations ( free! ) and the riding consists of singletrack, gravel roads, doubletrack forest roads, and alot of sandy ATV trails.

    Jay and Shawn..Did we ever come up with a plan for the route??

    I'm going to have to get my bike running in 19 days... put it on my calendar and don't see why I should not make it out that weekend.

    Jay and I talked and we may run close to the same route as we did last year. Perhaps we could bypass some of the super sandy sections of the ATV trail. We are open to suggestions or we could perhaps add the silt bed if someone thought it wasn't sandy enough.:lol3

    I had a thought of offering a more difficult option including tight singletrack and ATV trails (Crawford Hills and Knobby Ridge) however, I don't believe we would have many takers.. So, if anyone is looking for something tougher let me know ASAP!!

    As Chad said Camping is free.

    I will be at Jay's Friday the 27th late AM to open things up if anyone wants to come up early.

    We will have the grill out Friday and Sat night if you would like to use it.

    Hope to see all you there!!:fyyff

    I'm in, should be a good time. A few silt beds will bring back memories of Baja.

    Damn Dave, that’s awesome that you are racing the Baja 1000!! Did a bunch of you RGN guys form a team? I’m not a racer, but any illusion I’ve ever had in my head about racing the Baja 1000 was snuffed out by actually riding down there for a couple weeks. The people that actually complete the race are not just your average fast rider!!
    <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p> </o:p>
    I think we can make a good Baja simulator up in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Jackson</st1:place></st1:City> county. We’ll bury rocks in the sand and then well all stand in the trail as you approach. The ATV’ers up there will simulate the oncoming traffic. Maybe we can find someone with a big truck to try to run you down too. :evil

    Dave, I hope to see you at the WDT, I have your Helge Peterson book! I think we are all interested in hearing about this race too!

    I'm no Baja Racer, but it looks like a fun place to play and a fun crew to play with. From reading the WDT-I thread it looks like I should be ready for some sand, then some more sand; and I'll only need one big single if we're not actually going IN the tittie bar ;^)

    we've been in the planning stages for a few months. part of the team did the baja 500 this year,i couldnt make it,but a good test run. bought the bike on ebay 3days before the race,changed the oil and tires and finished well. so were happy. jackson county should be great practice...do they let you ride there at night? then maybe chad could almost hit me with his truck while shinning a spotlight in my face. great simulator. we have hotel rooms booked in cabo, so we have to finish now.
