I'm gonna try to stop up Friday afternoon / evening and hang out a while. I gotta make a sale ( VFR ) in Dubuque Satuday afternoon.. and money comes first..this time at least.
I hope Jay has internet capability at the cabin or could someone email me directions to his place.
I'll try to forward the directions he sent me in a PM>>>
Sorry Guys, Not gonna be able to make it after all. My wife had a bunch of family come into town and we won't be able to see them again till Christmas. She gave me a big guilt trip to stay home this weekend. Have a great time. I'll be at Chad's gravel road ride for sure. Should be there about 1:30 friday. Take care. 2HE
Excellent ride Saturday! (125 awesome miles)
Excellent company and excellent food too.
I'll post a few pic's soon.
Thank you Jay!
The first death on this trip, happened Friday! Radek and I made it 100 miles north of my house, stopped for a quick GPS to map check and took off. About a mile down the road "no Diesel" in the mirror! Back I went over the hill crest, only to see Radek with bike and puddle. I don't think they did a good torque job on the rear cylinder, looked to be a blown base gasket.
You guys put on a hell of a good ride. It was my first real ride of the year and I had a great time. It was time to explore roads I grew up on as a kid and ride on some of the roads we use for hunting these days near my family's hunting shack.
I hope I can join you guys for some rides in the future and stick around for some beer drinkin'. I like beer
I'm looking forward to seeing some of those pictures.
Jennifer 'Big Wheels' and her gang of men? The man himself, I think he's proud of the new orange beast!
It was nice meeting some of you and it was a fun well thought out ride good job jay and everyone else that helped plan it.I had a blast and managed to get about 320 miles for the day.Next time maybe I can plan to stay and have a few with everyone.
uh-oh! So that's how reliable these 950s are? Just what I needed to see before riding mine from Idaho to Wisconsin this week.
Not to worry! Radek has a different kind of maintenance program.
Have a great ride!!! My trip up to Jay's WDT II and back was all fun!
ah yes, I recall something like "jump the bridge...."
My bike comes from a guy who rode his other 950 to Buenos Aires. No reason to worry about him knowng which bolts to tighten
He is probally selling his 950 to buy a KLR for his trip to Alaska...good luck!
at least he's not getting a Harley to go to Sturgis... that would be a serious haul from Idaho...
seeya some time on Friday - I am heading through Sturgis for sure, got your cell # and no clue how to find you, but we'll probably hook up. If not, I'll just be the oddball V-twin in town and head out to mt rushmore and the badlands to do some adventure pretending.
