So you got a date with a nurse yet, Jay?
Jay: wishin' we were sippin' a couple right now instead of you being laid up. The Marshfield Clinic has a reputation second only to Mayo. I hope that's still true. Best of Luck.
I've been told that if you smoke enough, the lungs will patch themselves.... hope you heal soon and you're ready for the fall ride.
Jay, get better soon man!
Jay, I hope you recover soon. Please keep us informed. Take care.
P.s. Sorry I wasn't able to attend the ride, but thank you very much for hosting it again.
Talked with Jay this afternoon. He sounds much better - not so much stress in his voice from pain.
He is up and walking a bit and is able to sit in a chair. He said things are going quite well.
Some possibility that he might get out of the hospital yet this week (weekend?) but no one really knows right now.
He is in good spirits.
heres to a speedy recovery
Today's update from Jay.
He has been doing some walking (towing his stand full of gadgets with him). Seems to be progressing steadily. I think he is getting pretty bored just hanging around the hospital waiting for things to happen. Doesn't look like he will be out for a while yet. Medically things are going well.
He is taking it all in stride but when you are in a position like that sometimes it is hard not to be a little frustrated - I know I would be.
Suction device removed from evacuation unit just now.
One step closer to home!
Thanks for all of the well wishes! It helps morale.
I am glad to hear that things are moving in the right direction for you. I hope you are able to get out of the Hospital soon.
Thank you for letting us use your place last weekend.
Good to hear you may be coming home soon. I sucks being in the hospital, around all those sick people.
Wow...just got back from Sturgis and catching up on everything that I missed!!!
Jay I hope you get out of the hospital soon and everyone heals up quickly!!
Jay, Great, tubes away! I will call again tomorrow. Heading north on a family trip, horse show, to Cannon's neighborhood.
Holly Crap Jay!
Best wishes heading your way for a speedy recovery.
Thursday update from Jay.
He ditched a bunch of his peripheral medical equipment. He has been taking some pretty extensive walks on his own. Good chance he will get the tube pulled out tomorrow which could mean he can bust out of there on Saturday. He sounds better every day!
Already talking about making the Central Rally (by car not bike) and maybe making some big bike rides later yet this summer.
Very encouraging. We might have to work out a "come back" big bike ride around the Misssissippi River area sometime in September.
Is the tube down his throat, or is it a chest tube?
Pray for his soul if it's a chest tube. OMG did that hurt when they pulled that out. I wanted to kill the doctor. Really, I was so pissed that they didn't warn me. Of course had they, it would have made it worse.
I'll make it a point not to mention your experience next time I talk to him.
Do you think I should tell them to leave the chest tube in?
I think that seems silly.
Start prayin' for my soul....
Pain and I have become quite close these last few days. One more big dose before we part ways for awhile seems fair enough.
Oops, I guess you should ignore my post. Don't worry, mine was in for almost three weeks. I think that was long enough for adhesion to start taking place. Also my incident was almost 20 years ago, I'm sure they have pain free tubes now.
How are the nurses?
Good luck Jay.
