We've taken a poll and the ayes have it. May 4-6 is the winner. :clap Me & Mognurse are hosting a campout for anyone who wants to come and a KLR tech day. Folks are welcome to come & go anytime from Friday afternoon through Sunday. We have tent space for all and will provide a camp fire Fri & Sat nights.

Freeflow has some experience with doohickey replacement and will bring tools and stuff. Anyone who wants to do the doo has time to purchase the parts and do the work on Saturday.

Not much riding to be done at our place, but there is good dual sport riding potential very near by. We've already had some discussion in the poll thread, and I encourage more. If you want to just ride in and loaf and drink, I'm your huckleberry. :nod

We are located near Leopolis, midway between Wittenburg and Shawano, just 4 miles south of HWY 29. PM me for coords & driving directions.

I'll keep track of the signups by editing this post. Do you want me to organize a cookout for Fri & Sat suppers? Should I make a group beer purchase or would you prefer BYOB?

Bump for the doo day. I'm going to order up a kit. Anyone have an opinion on whether I should purchase the gaskets and rotor bolt? :ear <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Mogwai,

I've got this penciled in, and there are three guys from Michigan on klr650.net that are looking for a KLR Tech day that I've let know about this one.

I've told them that if they show, they have to be on their best behavior. :deal

On a side note, the Ferry from Manitowac to Ludington doesn't run until May 11th, but the Ferry from Milwaukee to Muskegon starts running on April 14th.

Just an FYI.

ok Chuck the date is set :thumb..see ya at the refuge
I say NO to the gaskets..I have a few brand new spares and have not needed them yet in over 6 doo jobs...so I have spares...

the rotor bolt is up to you...I reuse the stock one and have not had nor do I see any problem..if one gets chewed up...I have a spare...or if a doo is broken and we need to dig in and find the parts, that is where the real fun and time goes :loco...

IMO you only need the eagle lever and spring kit ($39)...and from Arrowhead Fred please.

I'll bring spare oil and filters once I know how many doos we are doing....if you don;t like castrol 20w50..or rotella 15w40...the BYO Oil...:flip ..and I use emgo filters too...

mnmoto...and others...I;d like to get a feel for what we will be doing, so please post up year and mileage of KLR

reminder, we WILL be dropping the oil to do the balancer lever upgrade (doohickey)...so plan accordingly by not wasting fresh oil

we can dump the old oil down Mogs well right? :lol3 :hide

I will be bringing oil containers and antifreeze containers to take to my recycle place...

cheers, Jeff

Mog, if you want to whip up food for us, that'd be great. Otherwise, meat on a stick over a fire is dandy, too... not to mention less hassle for you.

That's it. I'm watching Blazing Saddles tonight.

:D

... ans I was wondering what you meant by "arranging for a cookout."

-There's the fire. There's the sticks.

No Bears stuff.. Actually, I don't have much anyway..

I'll do what I can to talk the loafer Diaz into coming up for a day, too.. :freaky

I look forward to meeting you guys too. Unless my current job situation changes, I'll bring along my (company's) little 115v Miller and other needed welding stuff, and I'll pick up beer locally, unless you need a case of Rhinelander..:lol3 I'll bring up my Doo tools, and my KLR Clymer manual also.. Never hurts to have extra.
