Changing the springs are a piece of cake. If you go to this page

    www.klr650.marknet.us/forkoil.html

it has step by step instructions. I made one of the fork oil measuring tools he talks about and will bring it up with me and I'll be happy to help you.

I bought my progressive fork springs from:
    http://www.dual-star.com/index2/Brand/Kawasaki/klr_650_fork_springs.htm

and they include the new spacers that you will need when you change them.

give me a bump to the very list:evil

I have an extra beer fridge if need be:rofl(seriously)

I will probably truck and trailer so if anyone needs a lift from the Janesville area give me a shout, thus far I am wasting space for another 2 bikes (unless I bring the fridge:rofl).

My fat fingers double ordered handgaurds with directionals ( http://offroad.parts-unlimited.com/28/569/2763674 ) raffle item? best crash award? I work at a dealership so they didn't cost nearly as much as they list for.

thanks, but there's no need. I have coolers out the ying yang and the beer fridge. This is WI in early May. Won't take much to get beer cold and keep it there. :evil

Use that space for other evil purposes. :scratch

Please count me as a "possible" attendee (riding from Minneapolis) depending on the weather forecast the day before. The KLR is in pretty good shape so I'm hoping to just loaf, drink beer and and provide periodic time tested Minnesotan tech tips like "shim that up a schmidge" and "Cripes, that's close enough!" I'll be happy to contribute to the beer and bacon fund, and will probably bring an emergency supply of beer and bacon as well.

Hey.. I will head out if a gang of folks from the Twin Cities wants to ride out together or whatever.... etc.
Twin Headlight Ernie, Vandergraf...etc. This means you, I suppose.

We'll just stand around and mutter "awwww, jeeez... yah, 'dats 'da doohickey there arright then".

Or, errr, something like that (I'm not really *from* MN, but that won't stop me from doing the whole Fargo impression.

    Stephen,
I'm planning on taking Friday the 4th off from work and taking the day to ride out there. It would be fun to get a group from the Twin Cities together and scout out some lazy back road route to Mogwai's farm.

I'd like to ride out with a group but I'm afraid I can't use another vacation day for this so if the weather is good and I go, it will just be for Saturday-Sunday. Prolly leave Minneapolis around 9:00 a.m. Saturday. Anyone else who wants to go out Saturday A.M., let me know.

That's what I was thinkin' as well! We should talk... see if we can get tothers lined up and who. Maybe not too big a bunch... but one or two more to leave on Friday and find some alternative routes. I will start looking a bit and see what is what on the maps at least. I know some of that stuff, and I bet you might too.... so we could likely get lost if we try hard enough. Get hold of me sometime.... my info is at :

I'm thinking mostly cans, cuz they are easier to clean up. Variety, mostly lower scale stuff.

    Hamms
    Leinies
Rhinelander (if I can find some :evil)
    LaCrosse
    Point
    various merchants from Milwaukee

Will that suffice, or do you want a more upscale selection (about double the cost) of bottled goodness?
    Leinies Red, HoneyWeiss, etc
    Fosters
    Mich Amber Bock
    Molson

Or I can get some of both. :scratch

    Beer is hard. :nod
