Birthplace of the hamburger in Seymour.

Hamburger Charlie started flattening his meatballs and serving them on bread back in 1885. The first Saturday in August is Burger Fest with a Bun Run, burger tossing contest, ketchup slide, and stale bun stacking for the kids. They once grilled the largest burger that weigh 5,445 lbs and fed 13,000 revelers. The grill still stands.

Miller Park, home of the Milwaukee Brewers or as us Cubs fans call it "Wrigley North", honestly, I'd rather see a game here rather than Chicago, it's one of the nicest ball parks in the country, not to mention it has a retractable roof, the day I took these photos a big storm rolled in during the 4th inning and they closed the roof.

Tail gaiting at Miller Park is a tradition.

Statue honoring the 3 iron workers that died when a crane collapsed during construction, one worker was a women, I remember watching it on the news the day it happened, very sad.

Henry Aaron, he played his last games here "Hank"

Takes big balls to play here.

The roof is a mechanical wonder in it's self, it took about 15 minutes for it to close fully.

    Ramirez is God here.

Maybe more Cubs fans here today than Brewer fans.

You gotta love Milwaukee, they sure love there Harley Davidsons (so do I) LOLz.

    The sausage race.

Only in Miller Park do they bring out the first pitch on a motorcycle.

Here comes the rain, they must have been watching the radar, it was sunny outside at that moment, beginning to close the roof.

Nothing wrong with a cold lemon Linney's.

    Cubs win!

And a rainbow after the storm.

Arthur Bremer shot George Wallace in 1972. Prior to stalking candidates on the campaign trail, he was taking classes here at MATC. He capped Wallace because that was the first politician he could get close to. During this time President Richard Nixon was running a dirty tricks campaign. Through Chuck Colson, he ordered E. Howard Hunt to go to Milwaukee, break into Bremer's apartment, and plant McGovern campaign material there. The FBI had already hit the apartment but left it open. Newsmen ransacked it. They came back and locked it up and that was the end of it.

President Teddy Roosevelt hit Milwaukee on a campaign trip in 1912. Some bartender capped his ass outside the Hotel Gilpatrick. Turns out he had been stalked for eight months by the shooter. The shooter claimed that Bill McKinley had come to him twice in his dreams implicating Roosevelt in his own death. The shooter was aiming for the head but a bystander deflected his shooting arm sending a .38 caliber bullet through a 50 page speech and into Teddy's chest. The bullet went in two inches and was just touching his lung. Teddy continued on and gave a 90 minute speech at the auditorium a couple of blocks up the street. After the speech he went to the ER bragging that it takes more than a single bullet to kill a Bull Moose (BM was his party). Teddy kicked six years later with the bullet still in his chest. The shooter went to the state nuthouse where he stayed until he died.

The hotel has been replaced by this one.

Dobbersteins Grotto in St Francis. Some guy was going to school here and got double pneumonia. He promised he would build a grotto if he recovered. He did. He then moved on to Iowa to become a big-time grotto builder.

Thank goodness it is in a nuclear free zone.

A lot of airliners that fly into Milwaukee go over the roof on the building in the background.

This has fooled a lot of passengers for a moment.

The FBI moved out of downtown Milwaukee and into this plush lakeshore location. The place used to belong to some big manufacturer. The bureau put mega-bucks into it and now it is their area headquarters.
