The VFR isn't too bad on the gravel as long as its not too loose

It will be a while before I can add any more to the list, but this is alot of fun!

Been on some roads I haven't hit before - worth looking for. Lots of good photo opportunities on some of them. Got my patch in the mail today. I'll have to see what the 25 certificate looks like.

    -Evo

p.s. my work schedule was derived from that of slaves during the spanish inquisition so the prior may have been a rhetorical question...as you can tell by the 2:15am post time and I just got home from work which started at 8:30am!!!!!

I rode a couple of these roads on 5/17 and 5/18. I came from St. Paul and did some of them closest to the border. I rode some awesome gravel roads that gave me a lot of confidence now on my DL1000. I hope to complete 10 of them this weekend. The picture is from the rustic road by Maiden Head.
    Cheers!

That looks like the start of R51, off AA, south of Maiden Rock. How many of the creek crossings were dry?

Hit six more RRs today on my way home from the Galena ride. A couple were kind of obscure, but were well worth seeking out. It has been rewarding looking for and riding some of these roads I hadn't seen yet.

Including RRs in my return trip really broke it up and made it interesting. Well, I made my 25 roads, I guess I'll see what the certificate looks like . . .

I had to cross at least 2 creeks but they were not very deep. It was thrilling to me tho having never crossed water like that.

So I was looking over my calendar and there are a couple of days in July between summerfest and the BMW rally that look good for some riding....me and some guys from work were looking at doing a day run to New Glarus during that time frame.

Also June 15, Evo B-Day, probably gonna be scootin' up towards Devils Lake area with Blonde Girl on the back for a long day ride.

That is Rustic Road 51 outside of Maiden Rock. I rode it a few weekends ago and had a blast bobbing between gravel and paved roads in the area. Here are a couple of my pics. I remember 3 water crossings, and one that was dried up.

It's a short road, but well worth the trip if you find yourself in the area.

R51 is a fun road, one that creates the illusion of a real dual sport adventure. In reality it is tame enough for a Gold Wing. That is sort of the problem with western Wisconsin; there are all kinds of fun coulee roads, but nothing really challenging.
Those structures in the last picture are snowmobile bridges for the creek crossings. The road can be quite entertaining in winter, especially with a few ice screws in your knobs.
