Just wanted to post this because there seems to be quite a bit of gossip about whether or not WP makes stuff for the F800GS. It exists. They make it. You can buy it. Not cheap though. Here's what I got back from Hornig when I asked if I can get WP progressive springs from them:

    Hello

    That is no problem.
You can order part Art-No.: 9932.0312.A (1 set)
    and SAE7.5 2 x

I need only what is 200 pounds in kilograms.

    Kind regards,

$1650 USD for Fusion suspension with reservoir fixed by a steel flex and Hydraulic preload adjustment

I'll write again about this when I have $2000 to spend on suspension....:tb

Hey griz sorry to tell you that they are full of crap and if you buy that shock it will not fit a 650 or 800 twin as it is for a 650 single!!! I bought a wp shock from wp america which actually was wp uk and when i got it it looked just like the 1 hornig has listed and was for a 650 single i contacted wp home office and they said they don't make 1 for the twin yet ( this was as of the spring of the year) sorry to break the bad news!

Well sorry to break it back to you, but whoever you talked to is full of it!

Here it is installed on an F800GS:

Don't what to tell ya man. They exist, you can get them from Hornig. If you place an order online with Hornig, they will forward the order information directly to WP Suspension in the Netherlands. The shock will be built for your bike, rider weight, and riding style. It will then arrive to Hornig in Germany, then they will ship it out directly to the customer.

WP does make the 4014 Fusion for the F800GS.

    http://www.wpsuspension.co.uk/images/fitments/fitmentlist09.pdf
Contains part numbers for Fusion, Emulsion, Fork Springs (and how to set them up).

If you still don't believe it after the pics and fitment guide I posted, I don't know what to tell ya. Seems like you went through the wrong channels and talked to people that didn't know it existed yet last Spring, and were stupid and shipped you an F650GS Single shock. Then when you called 'em out on it, they were all, "it doesn't exist yet." Which of course was complete garbage. Sounds like this US WP dealer didn't even know their own product line at the time!

It's also possible that it didn't exist when you pursued it, but it does now. I don't think the guys in the pics would be running the wrong rear shock in their bikes.

I just got an email back from WP yesterday and they told me they are only making suspension components for KTM at the moment. Then they put me intouch with their "sister company" Ohlins.

    :huh

EDIT: Just for clarification I was speaking with someone with WP in the UK.

EDIT #2: Shortly after the response from WP UK, I received a quote from Ohlins UK for the F800GS. I had asked about suspension components for my R1200C as well. Ohlins UK says they don't make suspension components for the R1200C. I find it interesting that Ohlins USA does make shocks for the R1200C...WTF?!?

i was hoping to save you some trouble i posted it here when it happened and it was a real pain in the ass to send the shock back to the uk and it took a while to get the money straight. i bought a shock from the wp usa website which is apparently run by wp uk which listed a fitment for the 800 and 650 twin and received a shock that looked just like the 1 that hornig shows and its a shock for the 650 single!!since then wp usa changed their fitment guide. i also contacted the factory direct and they told me they don't plan to make anything soon. If i had the funds now i would be looking at the hyper pro or a penske as ohlins has their head up their ass too!!!!

    Yep.

    LINKY

Good friend of mine had Elka on his 12GS and raved about it. He is quite experienced in the realm of suspension and has had a variety of brands and was truly impressed with its quality and ability to deliver a good ride.
