As someone else mentioned, the Chain Gang put out a couple of CDs with the first consisting of basic maintenance and the second was more advanced. Why not do that? That way you can address any bugs of the process in a more basic format before addressing the more complex issues.

I'd recommend making the videos accessible via DVD that peoplepay you for but keep the cost down. If you are doing this to make money you will end up being disappointed when it all ends up on YouTube. I will gladly contribute to it but the fact is, the more accessible it is the more successful it is.

Finally, and I mean this in the most admirable way possible, I think it will be helpful if you reign Joel in a bit on the techno speak. I don't mean this in any way to be disrespectful and I have nothing but huge props to the guy for his contributions to the community. I just can't imagine watching a video of how to change out my battery and holding a torqu wrench for 20 minutes as he gives a presentation on lithium vs AGM batteries. I'm being facetious here but you get my drift. I'm not a wrench and my eyes glaze over every time I read one of his posts but thats my own limitations and not any reflection on Joel.

That's my input. Take it as you will but sign me up for a copy. I thinks it's a great idea and one I will definitely support.

I will buy one if it has Mac support and/or Youtube subscription + Basic Maintenance included. :thumb

Though I am really curious on how you will price it. :deal

I would purchase this. With all the F8GS's out there there should be a market.
Something like this was done a few years ago for the R1200GS (I bought a copy) and I found it very helpful.

I would be interested if the price wasn't sky high.
Also, I think DVD video in terms of resolution and picture quality is outdated so a HD (720p or more) video would be nice if possible.

Well, he'd actually have to stop riding long enough to say something. :lol3

Poor guy....being jobless....he's got nothing to do but ride. :cry

Appreciate everyone's feedback. Your input was helpful. I think we will do this project, but its much easier said than done. If all goes well, maybe we'll have something worthwhile to deploy before the year runs out. :freaky

It appears to be a No-Go. Life got in the way.....darn thing.

We did meet once, and think on some good ideas together.

Damn! Well thanks for trying. I was hoping to have a DVD for my F650 to go along with the one for my R1200GS by Jim Baden.

You'd be surprised what you can find on YouTube.
    Fuel pump trouble?
    Speak English or Spanish?
This one includes the Bosch part number

Need to strip, repair, and clean an F650GS (a lot of similar pieces to the F800) there is a set of 17 videos. Each ranges in time from around 5 mins to over 20 mins.
Start with number one here and then hunt around for the rest, they are easy to find.

Carry a PDF of the Haynes manual with you on your smartphone, and with an internet connection, you've got a surprising amount of info with the book and the videos.
    Should get you home.
