There are so many small lakes in the Wind Rivers that have unique environments
that you can fish in the morning for brookie and later that afternoon, hit another small lake with
rainbows. Then that night, you find yourself having brown for dinner.

I cannot claim to have been in the area as much as you. A friend from Loveland introduced me to the place and I go when I can. The fact that it is fairly close to Longmont is nice for me as I have family there. Pretty amazing fishing...I expect it doesn't get the pressure you'll find in Colorado. I got some good close-up views of moose, also...and of course there are the elk, deer, and pronghorn. I seem to remember a little bar/restaurant in Centennial that was a bunch of fun. I've got to go back! Thanks for your insights...

There used to be a place called "The Friendly Store" where you could get gas and snacks but I'm not sure it's still called that. Last time I was through there were several places to get food, including the bar you're referencing, but I can't recall the names now...

Bear Tree Tavern maybe? I stopped there in 2018 and had lunch on a rainy/snowy summer day.

Yes, the Beartree Tavern and cafe. I believe their motto printed on their tie-dyed tees was, "8100' and a great place to get higher."

Last weekend our Jasper Stone Monolith.JPG Brass Cap on top of monolith.JPG Plaque.JPG NE Chapter of the Professional Land Surveyors of Wyoming decided to do some maintenance on the monument at the Northeast corner of the state. Although it touches the southern border of Montana, the actual Southeast corner of that state is about a mile further east. No motorcycles involved but it's a point on the ground most folks will never see so I thought I'd post up a few of pics.

    Run away!!!!!

I rode my RT from Lander to Cheyenne one fine day and went right through a storm like that from near Elk Mountain all the way to Chey-town. Everything was just fine until I slowed down. I had been dry as toast behind the fairing and wind screen but once I slowed down to get off the interstate and roll through town I was instantly soaked. Those thunder boomers can drop a lot of rain in a short time.

The saddle bar stools are quite uncomfortable, but it is a fun stop. Once or twice is good though.

The bridge you crossed on the Chief Joseph crosses Sunlight Creek. 400 feet across clear span and 400 feet down! I helped hang the steel on it when the road was all gravel. Can't remember the year. It was a great place to work and fun bridge to work on.
