Cool idea with the solar cells. Keep us posted on how it goes:clap

Late breaking news- tried the Hero 3+ at 720P 60FPS and it recorded for 5 1/2 hours on that little lipstick battery.
    22 files, 2.257Gb (19:53 minutes)/file, for a rate of 113.5Mb/minute of recording.

This compares favorably the Hero 4 which sucked up 182.3Mb/Min at the same mode. Just not the camera for long duration recording.

The Hero 3 does better yet but I don't have any data recorded and the camera is up at our Wisconsin office. I'm going to go buy a Hero 3 White tomorrow so I can do some testing here.

It is going to be a while.
We are testing the Gen 4 prototypes and have an issue with radio interference with a touring bike radio. Harmon Kardon who supplies radios to a couple of manufacturers has made some change to their 2015 radio that make them susceptible to RFI. We're not the only manufacturer facing this issue.
So far we haven't been able to come up with a solution.
    Wish we had better news.

Now, if you can develop a compact self contained way to keep the remote charged, you'll have a total solution.

We control our GoPro cameras with the GoPro App on our smart phone so we don't have a remote.
I can't find any battery info but it appears that the battery in the remote is not replaceable. However, I did find this GoPro cable. Would this meet your needs if it had one of our TAPP CAPPs on it so it was weatherproof on the power port end?
