Yes, it is lowered. The forks and rear shocks were swapped with parts from an XB12SS (Lightning Long). It was a bolt on swap with no modifications necessary. It lowered the bike about 1.75''.

I never really ride it off road, so I don't need the extra ground clearance. It still handles dirt and gravel roads just fine. It being lowered makes it easier for me to handle and makes it easier for my girlfriend to get on and off of the back.

That's the Laminar Lip extension. It's AWESOME. It attaches to the main windshield with some heavy duty Velcro, and I put two sets of Velcro strips on the windshield, so I can mount it in a high or low position. In all of my photos, its in the 'low' position. My main windshield is the Zero Gravity, which is about 4'' taller than the stock short one.

I'm 5' 11'', and it deflects the wind up to helmet visor level in the 'low' position, but doesn't create any buffeting. Moving it up to the 'high' position it just about pushes all the air up over my helmet.

    Nice find, Shastarider!

Check out Badweatherbikers for tons on info on keeping that gem trouble free for thousands of miles.

Potero72 thank you. Bandweatherbkers was the site that helped me take the plunge. I just can’t get over how well the Uly works. 17” front with such a steep rake is not “suppose” to work

Hey Portero, in the NM picture -- is that piping on the seat, or a cushion or something?

It’s the seam. That’s an actual 06 original seat. It was redesigned without the seam after some candy arses complained. It’s never been anything but the most comfortable seat in history for me.

My friend just purchased a brand new KTM 1090R. It might be my next bike... alongside the Uly of course.

A little run to the coast. Left Redding via Platina Road. HWY 36 to Van Duzen Road southbound to Zenia. Zenia to Alderpoint to Garberville. Hwy 101 south to Hwy 1 south. Usal Road north. Absolutely epic weather, 70 and blue sky. The Uly did great. So happy with the new ride. 6B7301E0-8C5F-4C58-A3D6-AB0DC51F6737.jpeg 49ACD2BF-F509-446E-87DC-9254B336F692.jpeg D331B2D6-4695-4B7B-8A2A-BD0537073188.jpeg
