My Sirius antenna is mounted on a bit of an angle favoring the front end. Running north, it's stopped receiving by around Eagle Plains on the Dempster and Circle, AK, coming back south with the antenna pointed "right" it picked up all the way back from both places.

I was in Ottawa on the weekend and was surprised to find that my XM unit even worked in underground parking at our hotel, so obviously there are land-based repeaters there. XM worked in the garage, while my Garmin GPS didn't.

I was actually kind of surprised that the GPS kept cutting out in terms of reception around Ottawa. Then again, the clouds were pretty thick...they're expected to have 2 feet of snow today and tomorrow.

Well we got 1 foot so far, but I just thought of something...my antenna for my XM home dock is buried in snow. Still 3 bars of sattelite reception (no land-based up here), though.
