Got a few PMs regarding attaching the fairing sub-frame to the bike.

This part you will have fab or have someone fab is a a piece of flat bar.

    Material 6061 aluminum flat bar
    size 5/8" thick x 1.5" wide x 4" long

the subframe has two (2) mounting hold pre drilled.. they are 1/4" round spaced 2" apart. the flat bar will need to have these drilled

this bar needs to be centered on the head tube and welded.

this process is a no return modification that after completion, you can not run the stock (OEM) headlight.

this is what I ran on my XR650R.. picture below shows my set up.. note the hole spacing is different on mine as well as the rounded.

for a removable subframe mount.. we incorporate the Scotts stabilizer forward mount for the XR650r. part # fbd-4601-10

we use the same 5/8" x 1.5" wide flat bar but cut it to 5" tall
we notch out the top to clear the post mount nut. drill and tap a 8MM hole so we can bolt mounts together (see picture below)

we also weld on 2 1"x 1" side tabs with 8mm holes for mounting through steering head.

trick here is to mount forward scotts mount with subframe attached. center on steering head and mark where to drill holes.

remove triple clamps and bearings and drill out holes. attach lower subframe mount through holes..(there are afew examples on advrider)

check for placement of subframe for fairing and drill attachement holes.

More updates on the first post. Please be aware there is some minor fab work and tweaking that you will need to do to install this fairing.. I beleive some were thinking this unit is an easy direct bolt on item.. we've done all the hard work.. some motorcycle mechanical assembly/building knowledge is needed.

    Please contact me with questions.

notice as per Perfect Fairings website and on this post.

    • Please note these very important items!
    • We sell an unfinished unpainted product, it is your responsibility to sand, finish, and paint the parts you buy from us.
    • The parts we sell are un-drilled; it is your responsibility to drill all of the mounting holes and fit the parts onto your chassis.
    • All of our parts may or may not include the internal mounting
    • Please consult with our sales representative if you have any questions about mounting things like headlights and dashes.
    • It is the purchasers responsibility to mount all of the products they purchase onto their machine.
If you are uncomfortable doing this installation yourself. I'm available for professional assembly and building your fairing on your bike.. or contact a local fabricator to assist.

I'm always available by phone.. PM me for my number and I can to help you have a successful build of your rally bike.

Fist pics and comments just received from Finland !

    "
    Hello
Just home from my first "testrally" (KTM Adventure Rally) with the fairing and the navigation equipment.
The design seems to be quite good because even at high speeds there is not much excessive wind noise and no nasty turbulence!

The fairing was quite easy to mount,, but I made a new mounting bracket for the nav. tower out of aluminium.
The XR is now looking smart! Next some paint and some graphics, then final assembly.
I´ll send you a picture when it´s finished."
