What the heck, this is the kind of crap they send out the door at Clarke! This is the 4 gallon tank for the XR650L.

I sent the pictures, I am waiting for them to say the usual, you know the, "That looks fine to us, we sell thousands of these tanks blah blah."

I'll keep you all posted on the decision they make.

According to their website they are having a "factory seconds" sale. I can only imagine what those must look like :puke1

I bought a "factory second" tank from them.........it`s nowhere near as ugly as that....there was 2 spots that weren`t really smooth....but i saved a pile getting it,,and the spots are not easily found...send it back.

my xr 650r clarke tank was not very nice - no bubbles like yours
but the seam in the mould left a very rough seam and they hacked some
of the worst off it and sent it out - I was not impressed at all !!!
spent about 2 hours with an exacto knife to "clean it up"

I'm not looking to clean it up. I spent 200$ hard earned dollars on this plastic piece of crap. I want a new tank or my money back. I think I should of went with IMS. Anyone run an IMS tank around here?

I have purchaced 2 clark tanks over the years. I sent both back after looking at them for about 30 seconds. Crap, now, the ims tanks are really nice.

FWIW I have bought two different Clarke tanks and they looked and worked great. They should send you another one. That tank obviously slipped past QC.

I have a second hand IMS tank on my 00 kx250, I thoroughly inspected it after it arrived since it was used, and I can't say there was anything like that on there. Definitely glad I didn't cave and buy a brand new Clarke.

If it doesn't leak what is the problem? They dont't sell looks they sell function for DIRT BIKES. It is not injuction moulded it is rotation moulded, no pressure, just gravity.

Go to a Harley shop if you want custom good looks.

Well the problem is I recently bought one of their universal tanks and it looks really good. I was not expecting this kind off hack job after my previous experience and all the good things I had heard about them.

That tank looks terrible. Send it back.

I bought a Clarke for my XR650L 8 years ago. The quality was very good, except for the large amount of shavings there were in the tank (Note to self - flush it out multiple times before mounting). Also, use a little locktite on the crossbar mounting screws - they vibrate out in the middle of nowhere. :bluduh

The 7+ year old Clarke on my green DRZ400S looks and works great. Some say the cap o-rings deteriorate with ethanol blend fuels, but mine has no problems.

Maybe they don't make them like they used to? That's discouraging. :twitch

The thing about sending it back is the shipping charges, I don't think they'll cover those...:eek1

That really suprises me because I put one on my XT350 and my XL600R and both were perfect. They looked factory and Clarke sent me an updated gas cap for free years after I bought the XT350 tank. So either they have really gone to hell or somebody there screwed up. Keep us posted on their reaction because
they are or were a good company. I would like to know which it is now.
