tape brand? supplier? Thanks.
One of my favorite threads.
Not a bad read.
I am sitting here waiting on the UPS truck so I can put on my acerbis tail light, and finally rid myself of the alien craft light.
Also waiting on AndyB to call so we can go ride tomarrow.
your suppose to paint the wrap with header paint. I read that after I wrapped mine and rode it a couple months. Does it reduce heat? I don't know, maybe. I always wear MX boots and never recorded temps before and after. Does it look like shit after a year? Yes. I think if I painted it, it would have lasted longer.( but it does look knarly, adds to the madmax effect...)
Only thing that really reduces the heat is a XR400 oil cooler.
BTW i think you can get the wrap and paint at Pep boys, Autozone etc..
That is the same taillight I use. It's very dim! I made a refllector out of a piece of an antifreeze jug trimmed to fit inside the lens and covered it with foil tape. After trying 3 different types of bulbs I found that Sylvania 3893(T4W) are the brightest and fit perfectly without modification.
People love the truck. I love the truck. Where is the goddamn truck with my wheels!
That's a good idea.
This is my 94 bike.I have it since then!
As traveling is my strong side but like offroad this is the perfect bike!
Easely converted to take the panniers.
I could not imagine up today another bike!Bless Honda that this strong and versatile bike is still build.I just changed the little tank for this huge 40 liters Acerbis tank. And a windscreen.Rest stock!
Nos vemos en la ruta!
Thats what I was hoping to see, a heavily used touring XRL.
Just curious, where are you located? The number plate above the headlight does not look US-spec. The skid-plate also looks like an unusual piece.
And I want to know more about those pannier mounts.
I want to know what kind of critter landed on your seat?
Rob I used dot silver tape under the light and added another socket from a boat light as the brake light, not bad as it is now. Come monday I will start the l.e.d. change over.
Me too,:huh is that sheep skin? Does it get hot? The skid plate looks alot like mine, but I added sides to it. I made mine from a sheet of aluminum.
Uncorked, Desmogged, Dave's Carb Mods, Skid Plated, Regeared 48/14, Avon Gripster Tires f/r, UNI airfilter, Rear Rack and Bags, Stainless Rear Rotor Guard, Headlight Guard, Front Fender Drilled and Bobbed, Shrouds removed, XROnly Oil Temp gauge, and the fun has just begun.
Nice fender job
I like it too but I don't really want to try cutting up my fender. What is a good front fender to replace the stock one with?
I bought a New Old Stock fender for $20 on eBay. I installed it and cut it up.
Today, while positioning my bike on a wet, wooden low water bridge for a picture, the rear wheel kicked out and the bike fell hard. The clutch and shift levers took the full brunt of the fall and both will need to be replaced. Here's a picture of the shift lever.
That sucks Rob ,at least it didnt blow a hole in the sidecase.
