The pic's are great, thanks
They had a model called the Tri-City, 150cc, leans just like the MP3 or Niken
No new scooters but they did announced the D3C, new 125cc motorcycle and a new version of the R3
Interesting LED seat.
Video mid way down the page:
only about 12 years after Piaggio launched the MP3.
guess they want a piece of that market.
When the going gets tough, the tough get lost, preferably on a XTZ750
Actually they had to wait for the Piaggio patent to expire. There are others now too.
I have a MP3 400 and it's a car replacement and brilliant in the winter months. No shit imI the only Moto on the road some days around here...your Tenere is probably parked too.
This is all about urban mobility dude...adv is found elsewhere.
Yep I've seen a tricity before, Yamaha is just going bigger now.
They are all in with leaning 3 wheels.
It's the solution of the future for safety!
Expect electric versions too.
Ya I read they had the 125cc now going with the 300cc xmax motor, pretty sweet.
So what is the difference between this and Yamaha's existing TriCity three-wheeler?
Nice to see Yamaha picking up the ball with this type of machine.
They are just moving into larger machines.
The Nikken is evolving and you can see other 3 wheel concepts in this thread
Yamaha is all in with leaning 3 wheel technology now that the Piaggio patent has expired.
Hmm...The 3CT has the same front end as the NIkken.
3 wheels = more carrying capacity for more batteries?
That's actually plausible. In the meantime, I'm going with 3 wheels = no side stand/center stand so it must be all about weight and cost savings, right? Right?!
I really can't see these being much better in snow. You can still fall over on one.
Think I'd stick with a sidecar for winter driving.
Seems like too much complexity and weight for small gains.
I like that the 3CT has Tilt Lock and a spot to put your feet forward of the floor boards. The Nikken is about $16,000, any idea what the 3CT would cost if it was sold in the US?
The EICMA presentation on the 3CT starts at 18:59.
