I'm an hr west of Chicago, and this is what I've got (minus the top box not shown)

I've never used the setup, and coming to terms with not really needing the bags, as travel is incredibly limited right now. Bags are brand new (I'll use them for the first time this weekend), side racks I bought used of FZ1OA, and top rack and box came with the bike.

I need your advice. My fz1 is a 2006 silver grey. The gas tank is getting extremely hot. Much hotter than my Street Triple. If there is a solution that will lower the heat it will be much appreciated.

Soft saddlebags (30L) top case, waterproof duffle (med), tank bag. Cross country and back, no problems.
I ride a STenere now and upgraded to waterproof saddlebags.
Yes, racks and hardcases are nice, but liked being able to ride without all the hardware most of the time.

No rack under there? Is it a top case plate?

added a second gen retro FZ a few weeks ago. Got a few things to do to it yet...but nothing major. Installed a PCV, loaded up a map, swapped to some Proton signals out front, and X-Arcs out back. Still have a header to swap, and it'll honestly be "done."

Will not be adding hard bags to this one. Maybe a nice tank/tail bag combo...and no more. Drawing the line here. Hahah.

Hehehe. I like how you think, but no. Fingers crossed an Ivans flash and PCV will be 'enough' for now. :p

I took my 1st gen to the gym last. Don't know if it was motorcycle ride or deer hunting.

    Hey buddies.

Finally did a valve check at 87.000km. Intake ones were on the lower limit, but exhaust ones were all between 0.11 to 0.16. (spec is 0.21 to 0.25). Put the new shims in there and clearances are fine now.

However after reassembly I took it for a test ride and now it makes a whirl noise which seems to come from the camshafts. At first I thought I somehow messed up the timing but the bike rides perfectly. Maybe the cam chain tensioner expanded all the way out and the cam chain is now too tight? What do you guys think?

EDIT: Regarding the above, I indeed had installed the tensioner incorrectly. You're supposed to compress it back in and engage a clip that will hold it compressed. I then bolted the tensioner back on the engine and problem solved.

Engine seems to be running a few degrees cooler with clearances adjusted.
