Fantastic work. Well done.
Nice drilled calliper bolt.
Dang! Talk about an awesome build! Sweet!
Thanks guys for all the positive comments and likes since the very beginning.
Helped the motivation when winter was taking it's toll on my brain.
Rain on and off for at least 3 days, so that will give me time to finish salvaging the lower fairings.
I'll get them on, then try and pry my wife phone from her so I can get a couple good videos after things dry up....(or I might just get out my GoPro and do a good one)
Such a great job. TBH, that bike came out so nice I would be hesitant to ride it.
I can see your argument, but isn't the point of building the bike to ride it ?
I know, buttttttttttt, fuck look at those pipes.
The pipes won't change much if you keep the bike clean. I had an RD500 (the Euro version) with a set of Jolly Moto pipes with similar welds, and they didn't change when ridden.
I wish I had mine back.
What mine looks like now - different exhausts now though.
Nice pic Scott!
I built it, because I want to hear and feel all 4 125cc cylinders running as hard as was originally intended 35 years ago.
That is the biggest reason I did not go back to 100% original at this point.
I want to ride it, use it, smell it.....get back all the time I have put into it, building and thinking about it.
Not in the rain, not a daily rider to work, not to haul anyone around.......but it will get worked over on back roads in the sun.
Then after 3-4 years, I might give it some time off for good behaviour .......
All together now, still a few odd and ends that I need to take care of as I ride it more, and get things dialed in.
But it is basically done as of today......the first time I have ever seen it in person completely together.
Pictures are crap quality, but the sun should be out Sunday, so I will try to get some time on the bike and get better (officially done) pictures
As I look around your cave in the pic I must tell you with all due respect...
That is an awesome collection, well done sir!
Really top notch job, on an awesome bike! That's a project to be very proud of.
Some proof it moves on it's own.....
Taking it easy on the back roads breaking it in.....
Need video with noise......
Beat me too it!
Where are your gloves.........
That's so awesome that you have been able to fulfill your quest!
And the bike sounds really sweet.
It only took 35 years and more $$$ than I had imagined.....but I did it....
...........another bucket item checked off....
Very happy with it so far, but I've only started the fun part of break in.....time will tell if I screwed up or not.
And it will sound better once I can start running it like I want (shifting at red line) with more time as well
In the sun, and as clean as it ever will be from this point on I am guessing
Sunofabitch, that looks and sounds great!
That’s some good stuff.
