You dont have to buy one but a thorough ride report back to me would be nice and I am sure you would enjoy the ride on it. Get there early to get a spot in the long waiting line:wink:

I spoke to Richards Honda in Little Rock and they are expecting the S10 to deliver late this afternoon and will be showing it tonight only. I would call before you go, unless your in the hood. If you know what I mean. :lol3

I went down today to look at the bike and from what I heard I doubt it even makes it to LR before dark. And they told me it had to be in Longview, Tx by am wed.

Everyone could of rode one at the motorcycle show in Dallas late last year. Yamaha had the demos going all day. There wasnt even that long of a wait. Unless the 2012 one is different or something?

The S10 was there but the guy had to hoof it, to get it there. I was surprised by how low it sat and even more surprised by bent front rim. :huh I guess they got a little aggressive when they mounted the tires.

You talking about how low the seat height was or how low the ground clearance was?

Let me know when the Tenere 660 gets here, I'll get excited then, I have no use for a 1200cc SUB (Sport Utility Bike:D) .

Yup the 660 would be about perfect! I have no clue why yamaha wouldn't bring it.

I was talking about the low seat height. Too me, the bike had plenty of ground clearance but the plastic hanging off each side is not what I'm looking for in a bike.

From what I gather the 660 will not come this way because it is mfg in Europe and the import fees would make the bike too pricey. Personally, I have more hope for a dual sport WR450, than I do for a 660 Tenere.

I like the looks of it and imagine its will have all the typical Yamaha reliability, and will be a wonderful SUB for someone that needs something for ADV'ing that a GoldWing can't do.
Just not what I'm wanting. :D
I hoipe they sell 100,000 of them so maybe the XTZ660 will come stateside too.

I too hope they sell a lot of the 1200's. The 660 is a super fine ride I would love to have here also. Even if it cost twice as much as a KLR I'd still buy the 660. For me the 1200 will do a nice job of slabbing the wide open expanses out west this summer. After that is done it will be a wonderful everyday commuter. At least that is my plans. By no means will I be scared to test its ability's off road.

Thanks for the pic, it puts gives it a little more perspective with someone in it. I cant wait to see some on the road and take one for a spin. If it's smaller than my GS, and less maintenance than a 990 KTM I just may have to look into one a bit more serious.
