    When that concept turns to reality it will be my next bike. I can see Yamaha having difficulty servicing the demand. It would be spot on for my locale and riding habits. Have not had a Yam since 1976.

    That makes sense that Yamaha would modify the motor to shorten as much as possible to lower it and COG. Yamaha is not stupid on how to produce a great handling bike and what it takes.

    Yeah, probably. If they are going to festoon it with the whole electronic package, they should include cruise control. I would value that over all else.

    It is now (or soon will be) mandatory for all bikes over 125cc to have ABS in Europe so I would agree with this 100%.

    I doubt very much if they will produce a non ABS model for the US.

    Checked out the yamaha website and found a horribly large void in the adventure class. It felt like being in a bad dream. Counting down the sleeps until it looks like this:

    TW --> XT --> WR --> T7 --> ST
    I have a feeling of hope Yamaha will reveal an answer for the Versys 300.

    "Equipped with an aluminium fuel tank, 4-projector LED headlight, a carbon fairing and skidplate, and a custom made Akrapovič exhaust - as well as high specification KYB front suspension - the T7 is a vision of the ideal adventure machine, and is playing a major role in the development of Yamaha’s next generation adventure models."

    Translation: prepare yourselves for extra vanilla flavoring.

    I almost held out for this bike and will still keep a close eye on it but I went with the AT because passenger riding is important to me and I figured if nothing else that's where the larger AT would have the upper hand over this Yamaha. Plus I didn't have to wait for something that (at the time) wasn't sure to make an appearance. Would be surprised if this didn't hit the US in force given success of AT. It might just be the kick in the pants Honda needs to produce a 500 which I would probably prefer over this Yamaha given I would be supplementing my AT, not replacing it. All that said, I REALLY want a naked Yamaha...girls in my neighborhood would drool over an XSR900.

    This would make a better partner with say a Super Tenere than a 500 paired with an AT would.

    To include cruise control they will need to convert the 07 from throttle by cable that the current versions are to throttle by wire.
