Back when I was married if I had told my wife I was buying a new bike as we settled in for the night she would have given me the evil eye and said "Thats ok, close your eyes and go to sleep sweetheart." LOL.

I'm heading to GA Checkpoint in PoCo tomorrow to meet my new wife and put a deposit on her, haha. I'm so excited. I had a deposit before 2018 EICMA let all of us new-worlders down with the 2020 release date.

I am far from a designated grown-up in these parts :-)

And damn that bike has way too many stickers.

I really love the classic byrd looks, Belgarda Yamaha racing division,my buddy has the original '87 660 marathon version with the 60 liter tanks.
But it should have the big fuel tanks on the back, to have that classic look.

The aftermarket should start making big fuel tanks instead of making it look like a gs with all these steel tubes.

When will the tenere 700 be on sale in the U.S.? Can it run on 87 octane? Also how often is a valve check required?

2nd half 2020 release in the states, valve checks at 24,000 miles, oil change at 6,000 miles. Europe fuel rating 95 RON. We use a different standard here (AKI) Anti-Knock Index

The Yamaha presentation in Spain was showing 90 RON. I would be happier if I knew the engine could handle our 91 RON in Australia. There might be the difference between what it can handle and what Yamaha would want us to use.

The MT-09 Manual refers to 95 RON as a regular unleaded gasoline.

The Tracer 700 manual refers to 95 RON as premium?

95 unleaded in Europe is our 87. Super Unleaded 98 is our 93 premium.

    Tobers Rally Seat review:

    Rally Seat

It’s definitely the day for Rally seats then. I just got back from a 120 mile ride on mine. I’d say it’s categorically not a comfort seat. I found it quite firm and with a cheek-spreading contour. It’s likely my arse will get used to it though. It is definitely narrower so easy to stand on the bike - very nice indeed from that perspective, especially as you can stand up to get some circulation back into your buttocks.

The seat is also a bit higher as mentioned earlier. This means I have gone from being able to flat-foot (6’2” 34” inseam) to being on the balls of my feet. The slightly taller stance does feel really good though.

A hole in the filler pipe will give you 1 liter, 25 km more range.
