Only just found this page, so I have 207 pages to catch up on! Here's my MK1, I bought her 8 months ago. 1 owner from new and only done 3600 miles in 24 years. [IMG]

Too much, but as it is in mint condition I thought it was worth it at £2500.

IMHO, it is well worth that price.
I purchased mine w/ almost 49k miles several years back. $2300us.
Have invested plenty in neglected services and never regretted a single penny spent.
An absolute joy :jive every time I ride her. Consider it a good investment and enjoy.

Beautiful! And what a great find :thumb

It’s not the Mk1 colour I’d choose, but with that low mileage I could live with it!

    :wingsthat blows my mind!
Honestly, I'm a little bit envious.
Being considered a rather rare machine in the USA. I've never seen another one in Las Vegas Nv. USA. 20170805_131833.jpg
When I saw your post I knew I had to give my Redhead a good ride. Met my daughter in town for some yummy Tacos.
Thanks for sharing that epic event. Ride safe everyone. G.

You inspired me, to go through and fix a few issues on my redhead and then I will likely sell it in the spring. It is by far the bike I have owned the longest, but it is sitting neglected, like a redheaded stepchild.

Well, , everyone has their reasons for selling a motorcycle. And that's cool. I buy and sell quite regularly more for the enjoyment factor than profit. Although making a few $$$ 's is nice.
Of all the bikes I have currently (5) , the MK1 is not going anywhere! If I couldn't ride any longer, I would place the bike on static display in my residence and just enjoy :raabia.
Obviously Eu/Uk have vastly more machines than the USA so that's my reasoning. I'll likely not find another one as sound as this gem. :clap
Just look at this Face:killen. 20170817_170738.jpg Ride safe everyone.

I understand your curiosity and price would be for the new owner to say––I'm just old school that way. I can say it's going to receive thoughtful attention and is in good hands.

No regrets, but getting to that mind space did take a long time...years really. Lots of great memories and I really enjoyed working on the bike making improvements and such, which paid off in a long reliable run together.
Gotta say when it was sitting in the sun in the driveway waiting for the new owner... man, something about the way it looks still had a hold on me.

The "avatar" pic to the left is of the TDM and me soaking up a quick roadside vista from one of the multitude of turns going up over Mt Hamilton on the way home from picking it up in San Jose, CA.

    No worries Rich,, understand that.
I'm confident you got a fair deal considering the condition. And, , the new guy will undoubtedly be happy also.
    Cheers to your sale, :freaky.

Sad to say their may be a MKII up for sale in NZ in a few months. Well loved and well ridden.

I was really taken with the T7 but a bit of honest reflection made it clear that over the last couple of years my riding has been 10:1 totally off road.

Looking at a Beta 200rr.... At 53 I should be able to handle it. :hmmmmm

    Hi Harvey

    I have a 2000 Mk2 in NZ...

Have you done any suspension work on yours and if so what? I find the rear shock is a bit bouncy and the front has poor high impact speed damping...

Am half hearted lay thinking of upgrading but don't want to spend a fortune...
    Cheers

Check K-Tech Suspension in Upper Hutt. They rebuild it for you if it’s rebuildable. They did my Transalp rear (Öhlins thou) a few yrs back and it came out superb! Totally recommend!
