Sure, you can circumnavigate the world on a scooter, ride a motocross on a chopper, but I'd rather use the right tool for the right job. You want to dual sport on a Tracer, go for it.

And I just might want a Tenere. But not the 660. The 700 still lacks criuse and offroad ABS. Plus you have to come to a stop and turn off ABS every time you restart. Then you still have tubes to deal with. It can be argued the tank's too small and the CoG's too high. What I want is a T7 with these gripes already dealt with.

If you want a gripe free bike then don’t read my thoughts in this thread on an OEM Tracer.

The Tenere has tubeless aluminum rims, with spokes.

I think they are talking about the 700 Tenere (tubed spoke wheels) and you are talking about the 1200 Super Tenere (tubeless spoked wheels).

Yes, I'm talking about the 1200 ST, which seems to fit his needs. Sorry, guess I didn't fully understand the context of the conversation.

I have a friend who owned a Tracer 900GT, but ended up trading it on another bike. He purchased the Yamaha Clutch Arm and snap rings, but never installed them. He gave them to me so I could find a good home for these on ADV.
Free to a good home of a Tracer 900GT owner, just pay postage, or if you are fairly local to the Johnson City area of TN, or between here and Asheville, we can meet and I'll give you these parts. PM me and lets find these parts a good home.

Anyone swapped out the hideous indicators for LED units? If so any suggestions on where to purchase??

Lots of new features, but I'm not wild about its looks.

I've been considering one for my next bike, but not sure I'm ready to drop $15k for one.

Indeed. I was anxiously awaiting both the Triumph 850 Sport and Tracer 900 GT reveals, only to be greatly let down by both. I could most likely get used to the fugly side cases on the Yamaha, but it's pretty hard for me to justify the big price increase. I would have much preferred a good set of manually-adjustable forks vs the expensive techno-gizmo, which no doubt is responsible for a big portion of the price increase. I am starting to think Yamaha will play the "R game" and shortly offer a base model Tracer 9 with non-adjustable forks/shock for around $11,999. :(

Fugly side cases... ha, ha.. Spock ears. The previous years side cases were much better looking. If it ain't broke, fix it till it is. Also what did they do to the exhaust system?

Looks like the exhaust can got chopped right off.

Probably a great bike but damn it is ugly now. As I read elsewhere, the sidecases look like the bike got rear ended.

The old side cases could not fit a helmet. The new ones can, fixed.
