Thankfully I wasn’t aware of that.
We've all made mistakes.....
I don't ride my old bikes near as much as I should. Once they are done and finished that don't cost much to keep. Tires usually age out before I wear them out, and new batteries once every few years plus what ever other incidental stuff comes up.
Insurance is about $50 a year or less on each old bike and registration with an antique tag is around $60 for 5 years with no inspection required.
Even just doing what I did this morning for a couple hours on the old 2 strokes gives me joy it's hard to describe in words.
My big hurdle is space to keep them. When a bike sits, it is usually in my way, so it gets sold.
How is that possible being the oldest living member(alive or dead), current president, and most ardent follower?
What's out there for water cooled 2 stroke street bikes?
I've always wanted a multi cylinder 2 smoke street bike.
The Schweet smell of 2T is an Added Bonus!
Buffs the biggest that I know of?
I keep 5 in the 2 car garage attached to the house to ride, and 5 in the lawn shed, which includes my needs restoration barn find 69 H1 and my buddy from NY DRZ400.
I rotate them from garage to shed and visa versa depending on what kind of riding I am doing. If I need extra space in the garage to spread out to work on something I just back a couple of them out in the driveway as needed.
For old bikes just the GT 750, and for newer but still old the RZ 350. Everything else was air cooled, except for some exotic bikes that weren't originally sold in the US that were gray marketed in.
What does a clean RZ350 go for?
Are you nuts? With stock exhaust and ECU I’m not even an member.
Nice ones go for $8k and up.
I have roughly 6 or 7k in each of my old bikes none of them are stock or close to original but are better performing and more fun to ride. If they were restored like original I would have a ton more money in each and never ride them.
Also please no.
