I dabble... a little QC.. a little QA... a little production... a little safety. Well very little safety.

    Hey guys, need some advise.

Probably going to sell the 630, should I use the money to buy a set of motard wheels, new tank and plastics for the 525 and a 125 2t/ 250 4t, or sell the 525 as well and up date.

    Thinking of going smaller.

    Either a 13+ 350 EXC, or a 15 WR250f.

Also considering a couple of low K KLX450s.

There are a few 250/300 2t sherco and Betas around (14 and newer), 13my 250 and 300 KTMS and the odd Gasser.

Other option is keep the 525, and buy one of the 06 or 07 RXV450s in the area and pull it out for the odd trail ride.

525 has Fluidyne radiators, hi volume water pump, TT stator, fan and a crap load of spares I have collected over the years.

I'm actually leaning toward the KLX because I mainly trail ride these days, aftermarket support looks good, and I can get them fairly cheap...

trev been here longer than most; he's usually busy wrangling marsupials and accumulatin' parts bikes. It has been a while since he posted a domesticated bird pic though.

My vote is to keep the 525 until you ride the 350 Trev. I would miss the low end grunt that 525 makes if my only trail bike was a 3fiddy. That said, never ridden that green unicorn.

I'm fairly new here and it's hard keeping up... just had to check!

I would NEVER block an Aussie!

Sell everything and buy a 450 SXF and a 300 XC.

Yeah I was thinking that, but I asked a couple of mates who had switched and they said they don' miss it at all. One went from a TE510 to a 350, the other went from a WR450 to a WR250F.

I'm usually a fan of smaller bikes, but for various reasons I have ended up with big bores the last few years, and after the last trail ride I was on I decided I want a "small" bike again. I just have to decide if I want to add to the stable or replace with a newer bike.

    KLX450? :uhoh

I hope the ones you got were better than the ones we got. They didn't sell here and weren't offered very long. There is very little aftermarket here for them so most of the stuff needs to come from Kaw...if it's available at all.

Yeah my all time favorite bike I have ever owned was an 07 EC250 Gasser (the one in my avitar) I sold it to buy the 525 and have always regretted that, but when I owned it I had a few other bikes, and I'm down sizing to only have one dirt bike, and one commuter.

Oh and all the two strokes are road registerable here.

    The same but road legal.

They have a very good reputation as a great reliable trail bike here, and being based on the KXF parts aren't that hard to come by.

Aledgedly they are much less tiring to ride than the full on enduros at trail pace, and that' what I'm after.

I’d keep the 525 and get a 2 stroke of whatever size will compliment the 525 best. I think all of the older 2 strokes are plenty good. I’d rather have a 525 and a lighter bike than 1 350 or WRF.

Edit: I’ve ridden a Klx450 and think the 525 is better at everything

I'd buy one if they were like that here. :lol3

I know it was a better seller there. It was a dog here, and it was full of issues. They ran hot, the cams wore through the heads, on the 2 or 3 that I was around. They did ride well and I liked the power delivery. But they were not known for any kid of reliability. When Kaw told Jeff Fredette that they no longer wanted him on a KDX for the ISDE he said there was no way he could get one to last for 6 days. :lol3
