Guess I wasn't clear... What I posted the second time was my intention...

EDIT: You're right. In my original post I used the word "anyone" when I meant to use the word "everyone".... Imulate and whatnot right?? :D

I still don’t like making that a rule. It’s meaningless because it’s based solely on one event. Plus, it gives license to your coordinator to not do his/her job, and lets a rule do the work for him/her. That’s wrong.

Rider placement is subjective, and can’t be dictated by a rulebook.

A quick google search and you can find race results. Not hard.

What about my idea? Run whatever the highest class you run in another series is. The only problem with this is reverse sandbagger racing in a class that's above them before they realize it but that could be fixed at the discretion of the organizers.

I do feel for our co-ordinators a bit though.. It's a barely paid mostly volunteer position. They devote HUGE amounts of time to my fun. I'd like to make their job as easy as possible. Even if it means it isn't a perfect system...
I get what you mean though...

Because you can’t rely on what-ifs. An AMA signup with touchscreens and the data is all right in front you. Case closed. A signup at an Outlaw series is high adventure and needs a coordinator with balls. Besides, I can take you to any number of race facilities where there’s not even a damn cell signal. Nor did I, or my staff, have time to go Googling results for Billy Bob even if there was a cell signal.

Maybe they're more sorted now. :dunno Many of the District events around here are done how I noted. It's all hand tabulated stuffs, and then put in some PDF on a random website weeks later. Not much insta-digital stuff.

This is how a couple around here are posted up:
    http://www.foxvalleyoffroad.com/hsresults/Results.htm
    http://wfopromotions.com/RaceResults/RaceResults.htm
    http://midwestenduros.com/Results.htm
    http://www.nitrotrials.com/Nitro/2019_Results.html
    http://www.rpaoffroad.com/results.php

In some places, your quick googling may work. Most of the above...not gonna happen too quickly. :dunno

I wouldn't task this with the Organizers but let it be a protest deal. As a racer, if you can prove there is a class sandbagger nail him. Also it's not a catch all but just another tool.

Guy shows up at a vintage race one time down at Little Egypt. Tells my wife he’s “never done this before” and asked about the Novice class. I look at him and he’s in worn-out Tech 8s, an Arai helmet, and has his name & number screened on the back of his jersey. I told her to put him in whatever Intermediate class and I’d watch him. Guy gets pissy...whatever.

He destroyed the class and I bumped him to Expert.

    Never saw him again.

    Class, schmass. Sandbagger, blamsplammer.

I'm the kind of guy that wants to compete against someone who's better than me. This is an easy thing for me to stick to... :bluduh

If my job is to win, I'm going to want to win. If I am in the best available class, I want to win. If I'm in Triple B Novice eh, who gives a rat's ass. I'd rather get better trying to match better competitors than stand at the top of the 5th best podium.

Unless there's those gals that give the winners a smooch. That changes things...

Nah, that’s the coordinator’s job, not the racers’ job. You’re also opening them up to retaliation, too. I see that potentially going real bad.

    :stupid
If it's his first offense he gets to keep his Chinese plastic. But he has to bump himself or risk someone calling him out on it in the future and DNF'ing...

I remember watching the AM race at FVOR one day. Kid racing Big C or whatever seems to be obliterating everyone. Next thing I see, he's launching the set of trees they have by the timing\scoring. He was blasting a good 10' into the air and basically landing near the crowd. :lol3 Yeah.....he sure shoulda been in C. :lol3 Don't think I saw him back.

Let them keep the plastic, but call em out when they pick it up. Statements like this B rider placed 5th in A are encouraged. That's my take.
