Sounds like we share the same affection towards the holidays for similar reasons. My only saving grace is that my wifes family (i have no family) no longer feels the need to get together for the holidays. So i get off pretty cheap by visiting my MIL at her facility (she has been having some major set backs lately) Which i enjoy for the day, then for us the hollydaze are over. Wife is pretty spent by then from catering to all her clientele for the xmas bliss, so she is ready to engage the new year quiet and peacefully

I was pondering the same thoughts recently.

Knowing the ADV format, they will probably split us off, like a family divorce, forcing us to decide between Euro and Cheena fences

I would prefer some reason and accountability. Perhaps an exemption for plated dirtbikes that are unlikely to see more than 1000 kilometers of actual road use in a year. Now a commuter bike, a scooter, a tourer, even a dualsport I can understand. Pollution isn't cool, no argument.

Know what else isn't cool? Breaking 3 ribs because your new KTM 350exc-f flamed out and you fell on a stump (wasn't me, but I was right behind him) This guy has a Rekluse Radius CX that's dialed in, so it wasn't sloppy clutchwork. Nowadays buddy has a Vortex, and all emissions crap has been deleted.

Um..... if the bike stalled, sloppy clutch work is exactly what it was. Pull the lever slightly and keep the RPM up.

I have ridden a few. After returning the bikes to the owners, the comments are usually something like "I have never heard that bike rev so high before" "I usually dont ride the bike like that"

    No offense taken :)
Actually there are exception for "plated dirt bikes" since at least euro3 (2008)because every bike should come with ABS since then. There is like an exception for bikes below a certain weight/not passenger rated etc.
But not for the emission stuff I think. Part of why enduro bikes here are delivered with like 15-20hp on the paperwork, but never in the real world. Until Honda made one and sell it through their "roadbike" dealerships :imaposer

But anyway all this has little to do with brexit or not. I totally trust any "local" government/administration to set "not ideal" rules as well...
