Yes, seat is in high position. The bike is certainly comfortable to ride and, yes, for a road bike the weight isn’t ridiculous. And, I certainly really like the range the large tank provides. So many pluses except when stopped or near zero mph. Oh, I have lowered the bike 3/4” in the rear with lowering links along with raised the forks in the triple clamps. I’m just getting older:muutt

Are you doing any strength training? You don't have to get weak as you age. If your name is an indicator of your birth year you've only got a few years on me.

Correct on the year. Yes, on the strength building. I had a stent installed earlier this year and part of my rehab has been some weight training. Even if I keep the S10, definitely next bike will be lighter and lower.

old 1959 your just a kid the 51 in my user name is my birth year.:D I actually have been thinking about selling my bike too, I have an old right shoulder injury that has now worked its way down my right arm to the hand. It makes riding not fun after only 30 minutes or so, I treasure every ride I can get in before I will have to go a smaller bike as this is the best around bike I have ever owned. I recently sold a 70s airhead maybe should have kept that, don't know if it will help but maybe. IMG_1927.JPG IMG_1910.JPG IMG_1917.JPG

What is in your saddle bags? Take them off and you immediately have a lighter bike and keeps your wallet from getting lighter.

You are correct Riteris, there isn't much in them unless I go on a extended trip. Small tool bag, map pouch, and just a few odds and ends, I do remove them sometimes and yes they make the bike a little lighter and a lot narrower. But then again maybe you where replying to the photo of the infant in the side boxes.:D

I had the radiation sticker on the first Tenere (iirc it was serial #231) and only a few of us understood what those were about.
Anybody still have one on your bike?

I would NEVER put a kid in a saddlebag like that!

It would put the kid in the left bag so I could give the kid a bottle while still being able to control the throttle and brake.

It’s Texas, so one must get used to riding in 103+ weather. But a couple things I wasn’t expecting was, water...and a castle. What?! Yup, enjoy.

I joined the club this weekend. Many people have said I'm nuts but I traded a 2010 KTM 990R for this 2012 Tenere. I had bought the KTM for my son back in March and after a couple of 100 mile rides we both decided that it was just too much bike for our style of riding. So this Tenere is his when he moves back home and we look forward to many adventures (just not Dakar:D).
