    Im running 16 f, 42 r. Easily does 65, you might want 16f 40 r if you want to run 75.

    Same here, mine came with 13/50 teeth sprockets. Ive just acquired a 15T motor sprocket and 44T rear sprocket. People say 16/44 was what came stock. Enjoy your new Xt500.

I had used some titanium valve spring top keepers that came into my possession on a freebie motor. I "Assumed" they would work, but they were contacting the rocker [email protected] the edge of the spring. I'm real lucky that it didn't drop a valve into my new motor. A master mechanic once told me " check your clearances". So, i swapped out the valve springs with a kibblewhite set i had for my daily rider XT500, and now the old beast runs nice and quiet. Now if it would just stop raining.
