$6600 v $8200 is enough savings to strongly consider the non-X. I don't ride my YZ250 in the heat of the summer but it doesn't come close to overheating crawling around on slow, tight trails. The lack of a tall 5th gear isn't an issue if you don't ride roads and two-tracks (cruising above 50 mph).

I just found a 2018 X model for $7500! I think I will get that if it is still there this weekend... I plan to do some logging roads. What year is your bike? Have you done the top end often? Do you run octane booster in your gas mix? 50 mph is not that bad, however I wish they still had a sixth gear like my 1979 air cooled bike... that is the youth I am trying to relive...

I mix some 110 octane race fuel in my 2006, which has a milled head and higher compression. I changed the original top end at 50 hours and change the Wiseco pistons at 100 hours. I was doing rings at 50h but it's pointless; compression doesn't change and the ring gap doesn't change.

Cool, so if I did get the strait up YZ we would effectively have the same bike different colours. 100 hours between services is pretty good, probably get a bit more out of the X with it’s lower compression.

    Congrats,
I guess you Kanadians pay a little more than us Yankees.

I'm picking up a new 2018 X on Monday, I wont saw what we pay. Dont want to rub it in.

But boy are we going to have fun.

We should start a NEW , New YZ250X build thread......

The deed is done! I just purchased my 2018 YZ250 X for $7400. I am getting the rear spring and springs in the forks done to suit me. I am 6’3 242 lbs of solid sexy muscles.... lolll The dealer is having that done for me at a very reasonable cost.

    May the farkeling begin!

It's not orange. This place is overrun with Kool Aid drinkers.

And it doesn't have e-start. If they put e-start and a 2.5-3 gallon tank on it, people couldn't possibly justify paying a lot more for a less reliable motorcycle with a shitty carb and worse suspension.

That waterfall on the 18x. Those ledges are slick with algae.
