I have been reading some of the TAT reports and it sounds like a real life adventure.

I may be in if we can put it together...

Well boy's we ain't gettin any younger.
I've been lettin work get in the way of a bunch of stuff and I'm sick and tired of it. Melvin and I have been talking about the TAT on and off for months and I'm gonna try like hell to get as much time off as those SOB's will tolerate. Got a feelin that they've just about had enough of my bad attitude lately and thats fine with me. They're gonna have to fire me to get rid of me though.:evil

So what say you all? I'm thinkin the middle of summer if Colorado to Oregon is decided.
Or late spring if the Tennesee to Oaklahoma is the way to go.
Wish I hadn't sold the DR650 now. It would make a better machine FOR ME to do this with.
    :lurk

    Merry Christmas everyone!

    Yeah, my apologies.

Crazy job I have couldn't let me off for the few weeks needed to do this.
It's not that I'm that indespensable or whatever.
Just had a real prick for a service manager.
He's gone. Using whip, carrot, & micromanage never works when dealing with stand alone go-getters that make shit happen. Lost a few really good people to our competition in that fiasco.
30 years in Oct with same company and 45 years in same (sorta) trade, I'm ready to turn it over to the youngsters.

Anyway, Sam has changed his starting place from Tellico Plains to further east in NC. Understand the route through Tenn. has also been modified to get it off so many roads that have been paved. Will have to re-order those maps and modify the route I already have in the Montana.
Thinking about swinging south on the Mississippi Hill Country route to head south where it intersects the TAT and loop it back east to home with help from the Mississippi riders.

    Still thinking about it.....

Rode 20 out of 22 days solo on the TAT this August. Great adventure. Lots of desolation out west. Weather is a big factor on your progress. Sams route isn’t perfect but keep an open mind. Passed (rode around) at least 5 “road closed” signs. Only one was impassable. The road was washed away.
    Be safe. Pack less.
