Have an interesting short vid of an EX B rider at my place, but I do not know how to post a Vid here on adv rider. I searched a bit but did not see anything, can any one show me a link or how to post a vid here , thanks
I have to work on the KTM zap dealeeo. The rear had no lift whatsoever. I’m not sure how to get it to ‘pop’ up short of taking all the rebound out of the shock.
After two and a half months of living in my new place, the burn ban has been rescinded so I started some clearing and look at what there is to play on!!!!
That looks like a grand opening for a Splatters-R-Us location. From someone who only gets to throw a leg over the bike at events these days, I'm envious of your practice grounds. Nice digs.
I'm more than half way through clearing my garden, 3 years in.... Have recently found some awesome steps but they are thick with pungas and very slippery. All clay up here, no rocks. I'm trying to regenerate native growth where I'm clearing so I look at these obstacles as being very slow and tight. Balance, balance, balance. Save the trees, lol. Gives me something to lean against when I'm blown, too. Another great excuse.. I do have some very awkward man made obstacles, mobile wooden ramps, which I dot around the place. Tricky little buggers. Big obstacles are still youtube for me.
Used my tractor to put together a new rock (rare around here) obstacle. Rock is about 5 feet long, pitched about 4 feet high. Just enough pitch that I don't go over the handlebars when coming down. Will be great for learning different techniques coming up it. Got to try it out tonight on the EVO and the XTrainer. i'm slowly getting my practice area put together. I have it so I can string together sections now as well.
Added a small rock garden (need to get more riprap) and a few other rock obstacles. Also added about another 1/2 mile to my loop through the property.
I accidentally got some new trials obstacles. I got home from work and could hear some loud popping coming from our 100+ year old Maple - which is how I found this: By that night, it had turned to this: My wife wanted some of it cut for stools around our firepit - but some of these are going to get relocated to my trials trail: The biggest chunk is already on the trail. It's 19" high on the small side, and 36" on the big end. It's been too dang rainy and muddy to give it a try yet.
A few shots of our creek. Wee bobbin for reference. Sorry if these are duplicate of another creek walk. I walk it eye balling potential crossing points for sections. The wife hasn't approved any SSDT riding as of yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Me riding in that creek would only result in a drown bike and a night on the couch. I'm biding my time until I have a good reason to take the ass chewing. Not only that, I'm a big fan of our creek so I am planning entry and exit points that won't leave much if a trace. I am shooting to make the entire property trials friendly for anyone that wants to ride it but the creek will never be a free for all. I wish I had someone local that could help me plan the layout of the obstacles and sections. I have a lot of trails cut but no sections laid out. There is a lot of potential here but I haven't ridden enough sections to have an eye for creating my own. My neighbor likes to ride and has equipment so with his help I hope to get some logs organized and a splatter wall built. All I need to get better is off camber turns but I want to have a place for more experienced riders as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
One way to help yourself learn/get better/etc. is ride with others that are at a higher skill level. they will be able to help / teach / push you. (continue to be nice to your creek)
