Presidio La Bahia near Goliad, TX
Near the west end of Jacobs Reservoir in Oregon, circa 2010. Had to seek some kind of shelter due to a huge downpour the night before. Not the best accommodations but I stayed basically dry under whats left of the tin roof.
Nothing like being in the Oregon desert when rain turns the dry dirt to sticky gooey gumbo! Glad you were able to stay dry.
We had to stop as forward progress wasn't happening. We were lucky to come across any kind of shelter out there. You start to feel pretty exposed in the high desert when HUGE, BLACK clouds start rolling in over you and the only plant material around is 3 feet tall and shorter!
This is what the sky looked like to the east (we were heading west, into the storm!) about 10 miles before we stopped at the above "cabin". This was at Shirk Ranch. We thought we could out run the weather. That didn't happen!
