I've been around and seen many subs, but none I could get my bike close to. Probably be a short thread. My bike was outside this museum in Fredericksburg, Texas. This is the Jap mini sub that was hit by the first shot at Pearl Harbor. The USS Ward hit it in the conning tower. I'll delete it if you want since my bike's not in the picture.

We rode to that museum once. We couldn't get the bikes in either.

I do know where there is one sub nearby that I could get the bike in the view...

Google submarine in Arco Idaho--------home of the first Nuclear reactor in the US.
The conning tower of the fast-attack nuclear submarine USS Hawkbill (SSN-666), aka "The Devil Boat," sticks up out of the ground in a roadside park. ... On Hwy 20/26 in Arco, ID is the conning tower of the fast-attack nuclear submarine USS Hawkbill (SSN-666), aka "The Devil Boat."

I've been by Arco twice in the last year and didn't know it was there. Good excuse to go back. Thanks, Mark.

If you are lucky a sub can be seen leaving Groten, Ct every once in awhile.

I completely forgot about this thread. I just was within 1/2 mile of a sub Saturday.

Same location as the openings post, but it puts things a bit more in perspective ... that is ofcourse IF you can spot my motorcycle ;-)
