My first motorbike was an XL200R Paris Dakar.
The model sold in Italy was equipped with an electric starter only, and they used to fail as well :lol3

Final drive main roller bearing. Only bike that has ever left me stranded. I carry a spare now and know how to change it. IMG_8569.JPG IMG_8573.JPG

Must have stopped by the Jiffy Lube. They are good at removing old oil filters and not putting on new ones

A connector failed that connects to my fuel rail today. Fun stuff no fire but a bit slippery at 45mph. P3310640.JPG P3310641.JPG

How many miles were on her when that happened? I haven't heard of that part failing.

Really? This is a very typical part to fail on these bikes. There are many threads and comments about it on the forums. It had 108,000 km on it when the bearing failed. Which is quite good. I have heard of folks having their final drive go as early as 40,000
