Now this reminds me of my college days. When I felt like I had a little extra money I would splurge on Hamm's. Otherwise it was good ole Lucky Lager. Couldnt beat the price at $1.99 a 12 pack! Even had puzzles inside the bottle caps. :1drink

You hit it right off the bat with the first four beers of the thread in that exact order:freaky
    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/antontrax/4293618191/" title="Way out West-1290411 by Motojournalism.com, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4002/4293618191_059841253b.jpg" width="312" height="500" alt="Way out West-1290411" /></a>

I've only been from Mexico to Panama, but I found most other beers to be too light and low in alcohol. But I guess it makes sense in that heat!

Imperial in Costa Rica was nice though

Pilsener in El Salvador wasn't bad

Belikin was good! would love to see that in the stores up here. From Belize

Not a big fan of Tecate - too bland

Almost forgot about Bohemia! This obscura is pretty good, nice change from Negro Modela

In Panama they'd serve Atlas on ice at 50c a bottle. 28 celcius at night...

All Panamanian beer tastes the same, but it's cheap enough that it don't matter none:freaky

Adam, our new friends, and myself hit one of only about 3 micro breweries in Colombia. The two I know of are San Thomas and Tres Cordillias brewery where we ended up going St Paddy's Day night before heading back to the Shamrock.

It was a great place for green beer and they even had a tour given in English to our little group.

Drinking with the boss of the place, he was a cool dude and hooked us up with some free swag:freaky

Andreas in the middle, El heffe:

Lots of green beer for all
    [IMG]

Even had the high dollar Guiness stuff later on at the Shamrock:

Tres Cordillias is good but its hard for me to beat the San Thomas Hefe and I hear its name is changing very soon to "The Apostle" or something similar, I guess I need a San Thomas sticker before they are out of em:lol3

Probably 30 years ago, I had a Mexico brewed beer in Culiacan by the name of Kloster. It was a malty pale ale type of beer. I really liked it. 25 years ago, I was on a surf trip and found a Kloster mug near Ensenada and bought that. I haven't seen any evidence of that beer since. Anyone else seen it?

Hell, what was Casillero in Chile, 5 bucks, mas o menos? Well backhere in Colombia I am shocked, Casillero Cab, 2008, 15 bucks a bottle in Medellín. Fookin hell, I think I paid less than 5 bucks for that in Santiago. Oh the Argentinian wines as well, great stuff, and cheap!!!!

The casillero is CyT's number one export I blieve and it runs b/w $11 and $15 in the states and can be had in most supermarkets.

The cheapest I've seen it down here is maybe $6 after conversion. It's still kind of expensive which is why i drink the Frontera (outside of Chile) which I can get for $5 easily. In Chile I'm drinking the Exportacion Cab which is 2K pesos for a 1500 cc :slurp

In Argentina I'm drinking all kinds of stuff, cabs, malbecs, carmaneres, in the $5 range for 1500 cc.

I'm currently waiting out a big cloud on Fitz Roy and drinking all the wine in El Chalten in the process. :loaded

Well John better get a long snorkel and some insulated scuba gear for that water crossing and he'll need to bring his own aduana paper work and hope that Argentina will let him in the country with his moto. :deal

Honey badger climbed up to Lago Torre today in a snow storm to see a glimpse of the glacier through the fog. :lol3

man, I forgot that this was about beer. From Brazil. Devassa. Loosely translated, Devassa could mean, "slut" which explains why Paris Hilton is the spokesperson for this beer.

Since the beer is called "slut" it comes complete with a foil condom over the top of the can. Nice! the can is ok, but the dark, the red, and the pilsner in the bottles are all quite good.
