I like cheap when riding solo. So, the Country View Inn, in Fancy Gap, VA. It's about 2 miles from the BRP exit, $32. Right next to I-77.

The crappy motel that's "Biker Friendly" right at the exit is $17 more.

Cameron's English Pub in Half Moon Bay, CA.

What could be better than a room upstairs from an English pub/restaurant with a HUGE selection of beer? They even have a double decker bus as a smoking area next to the outside dart board.

Riding through Plains, Montana one afternoon I stopped by chance at a small motel with the unlikely name of "Dew Duck Inn". My room was squeaky clean, with handmade quilts on the bed. Even had a rocking chair. The owner is a bit of a character (hilarious to talk to) and was very helpful with local information. Strongly recommend this place!

    Konkolville Motel Orofino, ID. http://www.konkolvillemotel.com/

If you like pavement Hwy 12 (Lolo Pass) to Lolo, MT is outstanding following the Lochsa River and the Lochsa Lodge at the other end. Be sure to stop for a meal the food is awesome. They have cabins if you want to spend the night.

If you like dirt then the Lolo Motorway is for you: http://lewisandclarktrail.com/section3/idahocities/lolotrail/find.htm the road showing on the map to the Powell Ranger Station is the same road to Lochsa Lodge.
