Hey folks - I'm looking for for some tips on weird, cool, interesting and unusual places in CO. Please share your favorite places that are easily accessible via paved road, or a short section of dirt road easily rideable on a street bike.

Pics are always welcome too :clap

    Thanks!

P.s. - I know there are many cool places listed on http://www.roadsideamerica.com/ and other sites - but there are many that are not :)

Good question, weird is kinda subjective. I'd not like to limit the suggestions to my own interpretation of the words, otherwise we might miss out on some great suggestions :)

    No, tell me more? :clap

(google the carousel of happiness.. it is only really "weird" when 40 of us show up in full ride gear and take it for a spin :rofl )

Cool - I found the site. Is the Carousel visible from the road/parking lot?

I was going to recommend your place, FC, but I didn't want to be too presumptive.

Way unique for sure. I meet Bill Swets a few weeks ago.
Anyone riding up near FC should check it out at least once.

Bishop castle is another cool spot.
Cano's Castle in Antonito is a must see.
I'd say a meal at Casa Bonita in Lakewood is unique. Food is so so, but visuals are crazy.

As for natural features I'd say the overlooks at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison are way cool.
Also the paved road down to the canyon floor is unreal steep. They had to hand throw the asphalt to pave it.

You should always visit Beadsong first. The proprietor is much nicer than the grumpy old coot at Fattees.
