Unnanakis and descendants are returning....videos of their 400,00 year old gold mining in South Africa, the Mother lode of our planet's Mother Lodes,(ever heard of the most abundant source of

diamonds, gold, silver) being uncovered by mining are revealing, city the size of LA, the story behind many of the artifacts like pyramids, etc, explaining many artifacts still existing today

Pretty cool. I remember in the early 90's when one got out and was hit on the highway. Imaging that call to the insurance man!

there's the abandoned missile silos out by Deer Trail. That has to be the strangest place in Colorado I've been to so far. Well, maybe, except for Montbello. That place is pretty strange. Take a stroll through there some Saturday afternoon. :rofl

Bucksnort Saloon up by Pine is a pretty cool place.

[IMG]Joe Cocker's Mad Dog Ranch in Crawford. I don't think it is there anymore, but the ride in from the east is a hoot.

When I think of Weird for some reason the town of Ward is the first thing that pops into my head. Bring your own Banjo please :lol3 Or Guffy is right up there also. Guy has a full size Star Trek bridge setup and they have a throw a frying pan at your husband competition day., Or the Frog festival in Empire, Or the Tick festival in Heeney, As mentioned before Frozen dead guy days in Nederland, or, well there is lots of weird. :lol3

There is the Alferd Packer memorial site just above Lake City towards Slumgullion Pass. Go to it, then go down and have some BBQ!

Yup, lots of weird places and things in Colorado, many of which I've been to.

But my favorite: Crestone. I love it so much I bought a house there. I guess I'm just a dirty hippy chick at heart. :D One of the best things about it is that nobody knows where it is...

I haven't been in a few years. This place is weird and fun, at least it was the last time I was there, about 7 years ago.

I love the chicken wire fences between you and a mass of alligators :D

One year they had ropes attached to poles, so you could whack at the alligators and get them all riled up :lol3 They were gone the next year though.
