For a brief moment I had this, and the GS was supposed to be the "SO" bike... But naturally the GS took the place of the primary bike and eventually the NC started to collect dust so she got sold off to an old friend of mine. I kinda miss the frunk and insanely good FC... but the boxer puts a smile on my face every time I start it up so no regrets there.

So being a "Clarke cycle" motor due you pre-mix the gas and oil or does the Vespa have a separate oil tank?
The Yamaha TZ-250/350/500 I used to ride (race track) used to have an oil tank in the rear portion of the seat, but the engine was prone to seizures, so we mixed the fluids and placed them in the tank.

This version has a separate oil tank and mixing mechanism. So add a quart of oil to the oil tank, and 2.5 gallons of gas, 25 times, and good to go.

    Neat.
But as you are so aware the "Fuel air ratio" can pose problems for correct engine running depending on ambient temperature and so on.
Cant tell you the amount of times we adjusted the reed valves at sea level only for the mixture to play havoc over the mountain course (IOM TT) at Snaefell.

Yes. One of them. I had already sold Colleen’s. Then got this ready and sold it. I’d buy another! Great bikes.
