    Go to Hyder.
Turn right when you get to the SeaAlaska Inn.
Ride 20 miles to the Salmon Glacier.
    Neat little dirt road.
    Amazing glacier.
Bear Park (on left) along the way.

    Oh yeah, welcome jay990.

Pick up the latest version of The Milepost.

It's got all the roads, maps, info, for AK and Yukon.

It will tell you where is gas, where you can camp, interesting
    sights, etc.
    Most bookstores have it.

It's way too thick to bring, but I tore out some of the roads I was taking
and brought those with me for reference.

Great pictures. My brother took a lot of pictures up there in Septmber one year. Whenever I see those unique colors I know right away when and what I'm looking at.

I went in June, greener and wetter :deal but I'd sure like to get there in the fall someday.:thumb

The milepost comes out in April sometime so watch for the new issue. I'ts divided into sections based on each highway. I planned my route and removed the pages for each highway separately. Put those in sheet protectors by highway and them put those in a 2.5 gallon ziplock. Each morning or lunch stop I would pull them out at have a look ahead to see if there was anything interesting coming up. I also wanted to have them in case of a problem so I could look up the nearest help.

Hi Jay990, A buddy and I are planning a run up the Dempster in late June. Been going over the Mileposts and searching the net for info and tips. Starting to get the bikes and body ready, and looking forward to a few weeks putting miles behind us. Hope you have a good trip.

Glad to see over in the AK forum that you're hitting D2D again!

There'll be a lot of riders heading everywhere both before and after.

The Dempster is just a figment of all ADVers' imaginations. Really, it doesn't exist.

But you'll have a great time on it anyway. Best road I ever rode. Enjoy!
