:D Meet at my house (920 20th st. Golden CO) at 7:30am and leave at 8 at the latest!
Up hwy 6 (it will be open then) to I70 to hwy 40 and over berthoud pass (WE CAN MEET PEOPLE ON TOP OF BERTHOUD AT 8:30, LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON MEETING US THERE).
turn just past tabernash on rd 55, cutting over to Hot sulphur springs, then on to Flat, turn up 21rd and ride corral ridge and cabin creek (Kelli and I just pre-rode this, it's very scenic) over to hwy 125 (willow creek pass) then...over buffalo pass (worth the aspens and views).

THis should put us in steamboat at 1 to 130 if we don't dilly dally too much.

Then depending on time and weather, east of steamboat on road 33 and 29, essentially following trout creek to pinnacle peak, making our way on gravel down to yampa. Then up gore, down FR212 to the CO river, and over to hwy 9. Probably slab it from there, it will be around 5-6 by then. It's a good place for the summit county and springs folks to blaze home from. Esteban will go rogue from here and ride dirt for another 4 hours.

If it's raining or has rained a lot, we will skip most of the dirt, since these big bikes two up in mud just don't work...

We'll adjust the afternoon based on how the rest the day goes, with the idea of getting back to Golden around 7pm.

It's difficult not to just sit around and BS and eat Z burgers all afternoon once you are there...Deano has the right idea! Wes and I did a two day ride a couple years ago, and went north thru WY and around on the second day. Maybe next year...

Your route looks great. I've done all of the pavement portions of these roads but NONE of the dirt/gravel. Looking forward to it. Willow Creek Pass and Gore Pass (pavement sections) are lots of fun on street bikes.

Has someone posted the address of the lunch place in Steamboat just in case someone wants to show up doing their own ride there? I'm not very familiar with Steamboat and don't know the actual name of the place for lunch.

    Mike:

Got your 12GS yet? Coming on the Steamboat ride? You could just ride up the Poudre -> Walden -> Steamboat if you wanted. Would be cool to see your new bike.

Otherwise I guess I will have to bring a P B and J sandwich. Look forward to seeing you FF. Mike PS - You can take it for a test ride if you wish. I am afraid to offer it to B.D. - he would probably drop it!! :D

    Tom,

Did not go to NM but I was in Boulder at the CU football when my wife called Saturday night telling me her water broke. Broke a few laws driving back to summit county late that night. His name is Luc (french for Luke).

I promised the new GF (who just started riding) a long ride on Saturday. Might shoot for meeting you guys in Steamboat but I don't think I want to try to get a new rider to hang with a group so soon.

Oh, I'd agree with that, 400 miles including around 150 dirt is a lot for any new rider! If you don't make it, there should be some other rides this fall still, and shorter with the shorter colder days.
