Actually, the burgers were only $4.95 each. But there was a vegetarian who ordered the Veggie Special which cost $38.94 which raised the average for the meat eaters to $14. Got it? :rofl :rofl

Hey I don't know why it was $14, I think Big Dave ate three Z burgers and tipped the waitress $50 to get her pic w/ me. Geez, get over it it's just a ride to get a burger, with a sausage spilt on top, with a fresh roll, and a couple nice sides like cole slaw or something. If $14 is too much you can always wash dishes, or even better, be a ski bum in Steamboat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deano, tell LISA hi and to bad she couldn't make a great two up ride.

    Wayne,
Can you post the route we took - I wasn't able to follow along on the map and would like to revisit some of those passes. Maybe a good start for a ride report....

Here's a teaser until i have more time:

Thanks Wayne and Everybody who went. It was great to meet some more of the folks that post here and see the ones I already knew. I wish I could have gone all the way to Stemaboat with you, but I am up to my butt in alligators and have to drain the swamp.

Just borrow one of those new orleans pumps, a gazilion gpm. We made it to Double Z in 2:05 after you left, so I win the bet which was a buck and a beer (I made that up afterwards).

Hurry up Dave with a post!

Great ride, one of the best for big DS rides. Hey, is Eric alive, or somewhere on Rabbit Ears still?

I'll bet you say that for all the big DS rides...

Since I had to work and missed the ride (actually was sleeping since I now work nights), I'll be making my Steamboat visit this (Monday) afternoon/evening. I'll keep an eye out for Eric :deal

I'm not sure what happened to Eric. But not to worry, he's a very competent rider. Not sure how often he frequents the site. I did send him an email to his regular account this morning.

At one point I asked him if he wanted to go off together as we wanted to ride more and not sit around so much. He stated that he wanted to ride over Buffalo Pass with the group and we'd meet at lunch and ride home together. Just before we turned off to the dirt at Rand we chatted on the side of the road for a few minutes until the rest of the group came up. After coming out of the dirt after the Rand "Cutoff" I never saw him again.

I followed Cap, Tina, Deano, and ?? to Steamboat via the pavement over Rabbit Ears. A lovely set of pavement it was.... :lol3

I'm sure he's fine. Will ask him to to post here if he can.

    Tom

That is wierd. I asked Big Dave where you were when we met at Zz and he said you couldn't keep up with him so you turned around and went home. I swear. :lol2
