Z Grand Canyon Loop July 10&11-2010

Just a few reminders:

Make sure you have everything you need for any break downs

Reserve a hotel room or check the forum for those camping (there are a few)

The chase truck(s) will carry your supplies and have them there at points. You will need to bring your supplies to Makakoa’s house the night before or EARLY the day of. Night before preferred. PM for address.

Day 1 evening meal is normally as a group but each pay for their own. Bring funds

Chase truck(s) provide a buffet style lunch at Grand Canyon day 2, a donation to help pay for food and entrance to the Grand Canyon is appreciated. However, You will need to provide your own food along the trail. The chase truck(s) can hold your coolers for you.

Post if you are riding so we can get a somewhat accurate head count

Wheels start rolling at 6:30. Riders meeting right before that.

Day 2, leaving hotel by 7:30 be at the hotel by 7am for those camping

I wish someone offers a big trailer to bring all the bikes back to phoenix for day 2 instead of riding on 17 after the long ride on Sunday.

Where is the adventure in that? If you were in South America, would you be looking for a ride? Or would you enjoy the ride ahead of you?

If all goes well and finished day2 earlier (i dought it) i can always go back to Phx off-rd , throu FR354 ---> Perkensville rd--->Jerome---> Mingus Mtn.

The trailer will be with the chase truck in case of break downs that cant be fixed or those who want to trailer back after the ride on day 2. It ends late. We did it last year. Worked out great!

Well, thanks to some motherf*cker getting ahold of my debit card number and making over $400 in unauthorized purchases, I won't have the money to do the GC loop on my bike. I would still like to come, so is there any more room in the chase truck? I figure this way, I can bring a full toolkit and be available to help and give y'all a break if anyone breaks down or gets a flat. Looking forward to this weekend!

I am sorry that is happening to u if i can help in anything let me know, i am sure u can hoop on one of these chase truck ( i guess we'll have more chase turcks than bikes this time ) but try to make it on z bike, z sceneries by itself worth z trip ...

The card is in my mom's name, so she has to go in to her credit union and dispute the charges. She has an appointment set up tomorrow, but they said it could take up to two weeks to get the money back. Plus, they canceled this card and are going to issue a new one. So I'm out for the next two weeks. But I want to be a part of the rides in any way I can, so I'm happy to ride in the chase truck. Plus, I wouldn't want to deprive you guys of my mechanical prowess.

There is but if we trailer back bikes, the riders need a seat in the cab. Let me see if I can figure something out. There was another person that said they would help chase....

This is how rumors start! It was a cougar not a mountain lion.

No Falls.

Richard lost a kickstand bolt and skid plate/bolts. I had a sub frame bolt come loose.

4 finished. Richard, Richard, Eddy, Brian

Day 2:
8 started, everybody plus Nick (Nuc's buddy)

5 falls. Richard (?) fell 3 times, Robert 1 Chris 1

No mechanical failures

4 finished. same 4 as day 1

Thank you to the chase truck crew, Lauri and Nicole. Without them we would have had ran out of gas, food, and drinks. Whey did a excellent job.
