As everyone else has said, just a simply amazing ride report!
Thanks for sharing.
Most people I know run for cover in the face of a few mosquito bites, are exhausted after weeding the garden and have to eat about 5 meals a day to be happy.
MJ and Hennie stretched the limits of human physical endurance. Rode hard through some of the least friendly terrain on the planet on about a meal and half a day. Got pretty well drilled by bugs the likes most of us will happily never see, including at least one that looked like it would consider a riding helmet a soft target. All in the name of an adventure.
And to top it all off had the wits to take some amazing pictures and write this ride report to keep us all entertained.
Men like this are very few and far between. If I ever get the honor to run into you guys I will happily buy the beers.
Thank Dog Baldy or whoever linked this on the ADV menu bar.
I am unworthy of the moniker "Adventure Rider" in the presence of MJ and Hennie.
Now to read his other Ride Reports.
We got the impression that for most of your trip, people were appearing out of the jungle to help you every time you needed some extra muscle, until this bit about the villagers insisting on being paid. Did you pay the other helpers as well or were they mostly just good samaritans?
Indeed all that.
I think that MJ already said that the others didn't ask for any money, but they paid them something anyway because it was the decent thing to do.
very very very very nice trip, you are A.A.R., Authentics Adventure Riders.

Well done guys! As in the past, you've established a standard that will be difficult for anyone to surpass.
Your RRs are certainly some of the highlights of this site. Thanks for taking the time to put it all together.
Bravissima and goodluck on the yardsale. But what bike should oneItalian Lover buy for such a "volta"? Una Caponord Raid edition? Una Pegaso Trail? Una Vespa Versiona Pericolossa?
